The so-called “faithless elector” from Texas who defiantly declared he wouldn’t cast his ballot for Donald Trump seemingly lied for years about being a first responder during the 9/11 terror attack on the Pentagon, according to a WFAA investigation.

The Republican elector, Chris Suprun, made a national splash and earned his nickname after revealing his decision in a highly cited op-ed for The New York Times. He deemed the president-elect “not qualified” for the nation’s highest office.

A month later, serious doubts have been uncovered about Suprun’s portrayal of himself as a heroic firefighter who was one of the first people on the scene after 9/11.

The idea of the EC was that THOUGHTFUL, INFORMED persons would be selected as Electors.

Not party hacks.  Not fakes and frauds, PRETENDING to be (of all things!) party hacks.

THIS is the failure of the Electoral College.  Not than an Elector can betray his pledge; but that we have so many kids, imbeciles, hacks and frauds getting elected as Electors.

Yes.  I don't remember the specifics; but I remember several elections where individual Electors cast contrary votes.

I remember there was talk of co-opting electors in 2000...had to stop the hated BOOSH!! and give AlGore a chance to save us from ourselves.  Funny how this talk only seems to flow one way...because of course, the party divide seems to be along lines of intelligence and support for the American system.  The Party of Klinton and Soetoro, doesn't have much of either.

The Constitution does not require that he blindly validate the popular vote.  Try reading the Constitution some time.
