Law backed by Harry Reid will haunt Dems in 2017
By Susan Crabtree (@susancrabtree) • 12/16/16 12:00 AM

One of outgoing Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's greatest legislative achievements will come back to haunt Democrats early next year.

President-elect Trump has promised to repeal two federal regulations for every new one issued, and the Congressional Review Act, which Reid co-sponsored in 1996, will give him a running start.

The law gives Congress the power to rescind any unwelcome late, so-called "midnight" regulations from an outgoing president through a simple majority vote in both chambers of Congress.

Thanks for posting this! I had no idea.  :patriot:

Reid is turning out to be as bad a majority leader as obama was POTUS. Everything reid did is coming back to limit any influence the Rats might have when they are the minority. All the Cabinet positions only require a simple majority and all judgeships other than the SCOTUS. Thankfully, McConnell was skillful in limiting the number of judges that got approved and there are a lot of openings. Also, now that the precedent has been set the Pubs are fully justified in eliminating the filibuster for the SCOTUS as well.

Wow, what goes around comes around if you live long enough. Who knows maybe the country really can be saved.
