Otis Redding passed away December 10th, 1967.

Though he wasn't Motown,

Aretha Franklin stated, "I heard it on the TV. My sister Caroline and I stopped everything and stayed glued to the TV and radio. It was a tragedy. Shocking."

That ties it in.

And though Phil Spector did the most despicable thing, that 1963 Christmas album from Motown has a lot of good music and that can't be taken away.
