GOP may delay Obamacare replacement for years

Republicans are setting up a high-stakes deadline to replace the health care law.

Prepare for the Obamacare cliff.

Congressional Republicans are setting up their own, self-imposed deadline to make good on their vow to replace the Affordable Care Act. With buy-in from Donald Trump’s transition team, GOP leaders on both sides of the Capitol are coalescing around a plan to vote to repeal the law in early 2017 — but delay the effective date for that repeal for as long as three years.

They’re crossing their fingers that the delay will help them get their own house in order, as well as pressure a handful of Senate Democrats — who would likely be needed to pass replacement legislation — to come onboard before the clock runs out and 20 million Americans lose their health insurance. The idea is to satisfy conservative critics who want President Barack Obama’s signature initiative gone now, but reassure Americans that Republicans won’t upend the entire health care system without a viable alternative that preserves the law’s popular provisions.

IF the GOP doesn't deliver on this they can kiss any chance of holding onto their majority good-bye.
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

It is a top priority, if not THE top priority, for the first 100 Days agenda.

Relax.

There are measures that can be taken shortly after Obamacare is repealed. The infrastructure is in place, with 10 regional offices, and there's nearly 80,000 employees. Focus on medical care, not medical insurance, i.e. block grants to states for treatment facilities.

Hell, push comes to shove, activate Guard and Reserve medical units and set up mobile medical clinics. Be a great way for them to get their training requirements fulfilled.

I think you're probably right. Nominating Price to run HHS is a pretty strong indicator, but the history of the Pubs not following through always has me on edge.

Yeah, right. Wasn't that the load of shit that was peddled in '10 and '14? Donny is even going back on his promises by saying he wants to keep the two most expensive parts of Ocare.

One of the owners of an Ocare exchange is Jared's brother.  He is expecting many millions from the government to cover is 'losses'.   It was operating in NJ until it quit the state.  It is named OSCAR.  Look it up.  There is info that jared was originally a partner as well.

I'm just curious—are you working for the Trump campaign/transition team? A lot of what you post comes off as PR.

True, I was referring to this army of bureaucrats in processing block grants, fee-for-service contracts with hospitals, etc.
