An 11-year-old primary school student from Matamoros, Tamaulipas, a veteran of two shootouts at his school, has designed a bullet-proof backpack to protect himself and others who find themselves under fire.


“Two years ago we were in the classroom when all of a sudden we heard lots of shots being fired. We threw ourselves to the floor, but we had nothing to protect us from a stray bullet. Everybody was crying and very scared.”

Juan David Hernández’s harrowing experiences at school drove him to find a solution that would provide protection under such attacks.

Can you imagine, in any shape or form, our snowflakes going to school in these conditions?  The snowflakes would demand that the killers stop shooting each other and burn the American Flag to show they really mean it. :tongue2:
