Hundreds at mosque protest and anti-fascist rally in Bolton
Police said there we no arrests at the rally, which was held in a fenced-off area outside the town hall
Two rivals protests over plans for a Mosque saw hundreds gather in Bolton town centre.

More than 100 people joined a protest against the planned construction of the mosque and Islamic Centre in Great Lever in the town, which has already been granted planning permission.

A similar number are estimated to have joined a counter-protest led by Unite Against Fascism (UAF).

The main group of ‘Stop the Mosque’ protesters were given a police escort from the railway station into the town’s main square.

Both sides had fenced off areas in Victoria Square outside the town hall in which to demonstrate with a big gap left in between.

Police had earlier said they had no power to stop the legal protest, which also claimed it was highlighting alleged council corruption.

There's not much of a reason to flash some of that imagery. Hard core stuff.
