The Cuban people will remember Castro fondly.

If they don't then they will be taken out and shot.

President Obama and other world leaders embarrassed the nation's citizens by praising a dead communist Cuban dictator who ran their economy into the ground, abused human rights, and presided over an authoritarian, undemocratic regime for five decades.

One of the statements given by a world leader, that of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, has served as a rallying point for those disgusted by the servile, mealy mouthed praise and transparent doubletalk from obvious socialist fellow travelers oblivious to reality and Castro's political oppression.

Trudeau's statement was among the worst. As reported by the New York Times:

“Fidel Castro was a larger than life leader who served his people for almost half a century,” Mr. Trudeau said in the statement, which was issued while he attended a summit meeting in Madagascar. He described Mr. Castro, who ruled as a Communist autocrat for almost 50 years, as “Cuba’s longest serving President.”

“While a controversial figure, both Mr. Castro’s supporters and detractors recognized his tremendous dedication and love for the Cuban people who had a deep and lasting affection for ‘el Comandante,’” Mr. Trudeau continued. He added that Mr. Castro was “a legendary revolutionary and orator” whose death had brought him “deep sorrow.”

The mockery was relentless on the hashtag #Trudeaueulogies and came in the form of fake eulogies to past tyrants and socialist dictators.

Jean-Claude Juncker, president of the European Commission, called deceased Cuban dictator Fidel Castro “a hero for many” whose “legacy will be judged by history.”

Juncker was one of several world leaders who decided to praise Castro, 90, following the news of his passing Saturday. He called Castro one of the “revolutionary figures of the 20th century” in a statement.

“Fidel Castro was one of the historic figures of the past century and the embodiment of the Cuban Revolution,” Juncker said. “With the death of Fidel Castro, the world has lost a man who was a hero for many. He changed the course of his country and his influence reached far beyond.”...

It's good to see this---it's proof that people know the truth---even if some leaders do not.

Fidel Castro: the enemy of Human Rights
By: Karina Martín - Nov 26, 2016, 4:54 pm

The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, died and the world wonders if the human rights violation will continue in the country.

Since Castro came to power, the accusations of human rights violations did not stop in all the years that the deceased president remained in power.

The American press announced the death of the Cuban leader reminding him as “the man who challenged Washington.”

“He was as repudiated as he was loved (Fidel Castro). He was among the world’s most repressive leaders, a lifetime president who banned freedom of speech, freedom of association and freedom of the press, and imprisoned thousands of political opponents”, The Washington Post noted.

The Organization of American States (OAS), Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch are just some of the international organizations that have been dedicated to warn about the terrible dictatorship that lives on the Caribbean island.

The “lack of freedom of expression, political persecution, and arbitrary detention” are some of the violations that have been alerted year after year in Cuba.

He and Che have been favorites of hippie types, Camilo Cienfuegos looked like a hippie too, the triumvirate of the revolution.

The media is already off to a start of not being very critical of him.

I really wonder if all the broken-hearted libs mourning this foul dictator's death knew the pirvate life of "the man of the people" Fidel Castro. He was about a billionaire with numerous mansions around Cuba, a yacht, ate grandly while his people lived meager lives and rationed food. He was, in short, a typical commie jerk of a leader who lived the good life at the expense of the common people.
What is irritating is going on news forums and arguing with ignorant libs about Cuba and the Castro brothers.  They swallowed whole the lie about how the Castro's brought the Cubans up from their terrible lives. Instead, they plunged Cuba into a typical communist nightmare of severe shortages of essential goods, lack of freedoms, and no hope for a better future.

URL: http://www.nbcmiami.com/news/local/Elian-Gonzalez-Mourns-Death-of-Fidel-Castro-403176076.html#ixzz4RFhl7nj8

Elian Gonzalez, the Cuban boy who was involved in an international custody battle 16 years ago in Miami, is mourning the death of Fidel Castro, a man he compared to a "father."

Elian was a photogenic five-year-old in 1999 when he was found floating on an inner tube off the Florida coast.

Sixteen years later, he is recalling Fidel Castro as a man he likened to a father.

In an interview on Cuban State TV Saturday, he said he wanted Fidel to be proud of him.

Speaking in Spanish, he said, "He is a father who like my father, I wanted to show him everything I achieved."

Now almost 23 years old, Elian remembered when Fidel attended his elementary school graduation.

Gonzalez' mother and other Cubans accompanying the boy died trying to get to the United States from the island 90 miles to the south.

His case quickly became another battle in the long-running feud between Havana and Miami - one that ended with the boy's return to his father and grandparents in Cuba.

Castro Bodyguard's Exposé: Luxury, Ladies, Secrecy in Starving Cuba

A longtime bodyguard of the late Fidel Castro chronicled the Cuban dictator's life of luxury and ladies as the country starved, the N.Y. Post reported Sunday.

"While his people suffered, Fidel Castro lived in comfort – keeping everything, including his eight children, his many mistresses, even his wife, a secret,” former bodyguard Juan Reinaldo Sanchez wrote, per the Post, in the book "The Double Life of Fidel Castro: My 17 Years as Personal Bodyguard to El Líder Maximo."

Castro, who had relinquished control of Cuba to his brother Raul in 2008, died Friday at age 90. Castro's death brought renewed attention to his "brutal" regime and "unimaginable suffering," as President-elect Donald Trump said Saturday.

Surviving Communists and Autocrats Mourn Castro

(CNSNews.com) – From Pyongyang to Beijing, Vientiane to Hanoi, the leaders of the world’s surviving ruling communist parties showered praise on Fidel Castro over the weekend, recalling with fondness a “comrade” who clung to his ideology long after its ignominious failure across much of the world.

They were joined in mourning by the leaders of other repressive regimes, while several democratic leaders also raised eyebrows by extolling Castro – who died Friday aged 90 – but saying nothing about the human rights violations associated with his rule.

For North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, Castro “established the socialist system where the people became the genuine masters for the first time in the Western Hemisphere.”

Jill Stein And Jesse Jackson Attack Democracy While Praising Dead Communist Fidel Castro

November 27, 2016| by Brian Anderson

Both Green Party lunatic Jill Stein and black race baiter Jesse Jackson have called for a recount of the presidential election in the swing states of Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, essentially challenging the democratic process. In other news, both Stein and Jackson have praised brutal dictator Fidel Castro as a freedom fighter. Is there a connection?

Stein of course has led the fight to recount votes, raising around $6 million and filing for a recount in Wisconsin already. In her on-line fundraising plea (scam?) she says she is doing this for the integrity of the US election system.

Following the death of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro, Stein was much less interested in democracy as she heaped praise on a communist leader who never once won an election because that ain’t how brutal despots get into office.

Former CNN host Soledad O’Brien took a shellacking for defending the notion that Fidel Castro’s brutal regime in Cuba was “complicated” on MSNBC’s Morning Joe Monday.

Cuban-American author Humberto Fontova took her to task, saying there’s nothing complicated about the evil he perpetrated on the country. “Here we’re hearing about complicated emotions,” he said. “We’re hearing about strong emotions.”

To paraphrase the old VE jump-rope rhyme, “A-tisket, a-tasket, Castro’s in his casket.” The last of the Cold War Soviet stooges has gone the way of his communist masters.

Encomia from the usual useful idiots are lighting up the internet, but don’t mind them. Like tantrum-throwing college students and George Soros rent-a-protestors, they are a machine for producing Republican voters. The Dem-wits, on the other hand, should pay attention to the Cuban immigrants and expatriates celebrating in Miami. They might find there a clue to how they lost Florida and the whole government. Opening up trade, as their messiah Obama did, with a regime that pockets all the profits while it jails protestors, that gives workers eight cents of every starry-eyed tourist’s dollar, makes for bad optics. Canoodling with a brutal dictator who crushes dissent, persecutes homosexuals, excludes blacks from the government, abuses the church, monopolizes wealth, and tortures dissidents in his gulag is not the way to win American votes.

Fidel Castro Regaled as a ‘George Washington’, a ‘Folk Hero’ who ‘Loved’ Cuban People

“Non-cooperation with evil is a sacred duty,” Mahatma Gandhi

The media, one of our presidential candidates and our president are mourning the loss of a cruel and soulless dictator who destroyed his country in the name of communism. From Jill Stein to Joe Avila to Justin Trudeau, it’s a very sad day for the world when the Hitler of Cuba is celebrated as a ‘George Washington’.

The world is an evil place more because of the people who do nothing about it than because of the evil itself.

On MSNBC, Andrea Mitchell insisted in a stock bio that Castro “gave his people better health care and education.” Appearing live by phone, she soon trumpted how Castro “will be revered” for “education and social services and medical care to all of his people.”

Gloria Estefan on Castro: 'Indiscriminate Jailing of Innocents...State Sanctioned Terrorism'

Shortly after the death of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro on November 25, singer Gloria Estefan took to Instagram [1] to express her thoughts.

Estefan, whose mother and father fled Cuba [2] for the United States in 1960, criticized Castro’s “destructive ideologies” which she writes led to “the annihilation of those with an opposing view, the indiscriminate jailing of innocents, the separation of families, the censure of people’s freedom to speak, state sanctioned terrorism and the destruction of a once thriving & successful country.”

The entire post reads as follows:

Would love to see the island revolt and turn itself around.... but they have been cowed so long now I don't know if they even know what freedom smells like.

I agree, however there is one thing to remember.  This was a known opportunity to all international leaders.  Upon Fidel's death, there would have been a huge opportunity to use international pressure, and internal unrest, to unseat his brother.

The only obstacle to being able to take advantage of this rapidly advancing opportunity is an American President that did as much as possible to further enrich Fidel's brother by "lifting" sanctions.  The Obama administration purposefully ensured that we could not take advantage of this opportunity to FREE THE CUBAN PEOPLE.

They will suffer for another generation under the boot of Fascism.

I'm sure Obama, and the other Che t-shirt wearing, granola munchers, are so very proud.

@Cripplecreek Actually you have it backwards. Building the economy will cause the people to gain more freedom and in turn they will demand more. That is what happened in Russia. Gorbachev gave them a taste of freedom and they liked it. There is a book called "True Believer" by Eric Hoffer https://www.amazon.com/True-Believer-Thoughts-Movements-Perennial/dp/0060505915/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1480252133&sr=8-2&keywords=true+believer
Doeas a great job of explaining and documenting.

@verga @Cripplecreek

Verga,

Actually CC is 100% correct, however I understand your sentiment.  The difference is that every dollar over the allowed upper income limit in Cuba, ends up in the Castro regime's pockets.  Those dollars over the maximum allowed income do nothing but further entrench the communists' power in Cuba.  They were nearly at a breaking point, after 50 years of economic sanctions it was just about to succeed...then our own marxist "lifted" the sanctions.

Let me give you a real example.  Assume that you are a leftist that has been itching to go to Cuba for years.  Now, you hop on a plane and head on down.  You stay at a fancy hotel and eat some great food.  You take a Castro approved tour of the strip that is specifically set up for American tourists.  You marvel at all of the classic cars and wonderful people....

What you don't know is that the waitress you had and tipped 100% of your $10 meal is only allowed to make $18 a month.  So, those tips go directly into the Castro regime's pockets.  Every dollar spent in Cuba further entrenches the Communist ruling elite.

The difference between the Castros and Gorbachev, is that Gorby actually EMBRACED (or tried to) Capitalism.  He WANTED his people to become more prosperous.  Sadly, it didn't work.  (There are multiple reasons and that is a discussion for another thread.)  The Castro Regime prefers to keep the people of Cuba under their boots.  THAT IS THEIR JOY IN LIFE!  Any economic development that any American attempts to create in Cuba will do nothing but make that BOOT heavier.

Fidel Castro derailed Mob’s plans in Cuba
Meyer Lansky took biggest hit when rebels overran Havana
Posted on November 28, 2016

by Geoff Schumacher

This is the first of three blogs on the death of Fidel Castro. Part two will look at Mob ties to assassination attempts against Castro. Part three will examine the effect of Castro’s revolution on Las Vegas.

The death last week of Fidel Castro at age 90 drew impassioned responses from around the world, as he was either honored or vilified for his five decades of communist rule of Cuba. Lost in the dialogue was the harsh blow Castro dealt to the American Mob when he seized control of the island nation in 1959.

Castro led a guerrilla group of revolutionaries who challenged the brutal regime of Fulgencio Batista. After Batista fled Cuba, Castro entered Havana on January 1, 1959, to cheering crowds. Among other dramatic changes, Castro threw American companies off the island – including the mobsters who controlled Havana’s hotels, casinos and nightclubs.

High-profile organized crime figures such as Meyer Lansky and Santo Trafficante Jr. were hit the hardest, as they had made the largest investments in Cuba. Lansky actually was on Batista’s payroll as the dictator’s casino gambling adviser. Lansky also had just spent millions of dollars on his masterpiece gambling resort – the Hotel Riviera.

The Mob invested heavily in Havana during Batista’s tenure (1952-58) and had built a tourism destination that rivaled Las Vegas. As T.J. English describes the scene in Havana Nocturne: How the Mob Owned Cuba … and Then Lost It to the Revolution, “The allure of organized gambling, along with fabulous nightclub floor shows and beautiful women, brought an influx of money into the city.”

We, the CIA should not have, if we did, teamed up with the Mob to hit Cuba and Castro; I also don't think we should as a rule, try to assassinate foreign leaders.

I was thinking of making a poll about this. I'm still mulling it over.

Times are now much different than in 1960. The Mafia, Mob did have businesses in Cuba. We really should not have done anything to aid that business.

Batista too; I've read may not have been that awful of a dictator but all I know is what I have read.

Cuba had relative prosperity under him.
