Obama’s got a game plan post-Trump – is the country ready?
By Ruben Major, contributor - 11/21/16 04:45 PM EST

It seems that President Obama has, after the election, conceded that he will have no control over what comes next with a President-elect Donald Trump. He has stated on various occasions how he intends to work hard to help a Trump administration with a proper turnover, and has slowed down on many of the reforms he still has control over through executive action.

In the meantime, many people in the Democratic Party have been left bewildered.

Take for example the recent Dakota Access pipeline issue, where the president had said there might be a reroute option. It appears that this appeal has been abandoned and the protesters have been left standing without recourse.

...So what is Obama’s long-term game? The idea that, sometimes, it takes great conflict to create great solutions.

...

To give those dismayed hope, Obama, in his international farewell tour, has explained that American democracy is bigger than any one person — that although Trump might be able to get into the White House for four or even eight years, he will not be able to reverse all the progress that’s has been made over the last eight years.

But it’s more than just the Obama administration — the progress of the last 50-60 years is on the line, beginning with the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s.

He will continue to be a force for the bad guys.
