WYANDANCH, N.Y.—A live grenade has been found at a Long Island recycling plant and safely detonated by police.

Newsday reports the grenade was found Saturday morning by an employee at Omni Recycling of Babylon Inc., in the hamlet of Wyandanch.

Suffolk County Police say the plant was evacuated shortly after 7 a.m. No one was injured.
