Explosion in rural Illinois town kills 1, injures 10

One person is dead and at least 10 others have been injured after a natural-gas explosion rocked downtown Canton, Ill, on Wednesday evening, according to reports.

Local police said the explosion took place around the downtown square and damaged several buildings nearby. Engineers are on site looking into the incident.

Approximately 11 people were taken to the hospital where one person died from injuries sustained in the explosion, according to WLS...

Isn't Canton kinda mid-central... like Peoria-ish?
