Cruz being on the wrong end of 99-1 votes in the Senate is not really helpful. Cruz as a solidly Conservative back bone of steel vote on the SC would be VERY helpful. Too many GOP picks "evolve" into squishy moderates once they get on the court. We need a solidly conservative anchor man to replace Scalia. Cruz would be that guy.

So since he's the lone descent,  he is automatically "wrong"?

OK, I don't want to fan any flames, but we got to bring this out before the Left lobby starts this .. and if we can refute this early, we can nip this in the bud.

It seems that one of the justices being considered -- William Pryor, had a nude photo published in 1997 by a popular gay pornography site. The photo portrayed a young man stark naked and in a state of sexual arousal.

Fake? Or true?

See here: http://www.justice-integrity.org/faq/549-famed-conservative-federal-judge-accused-of-posing-nude-as-a-young-man

and here: https://justiceleaguetaskforce.wordpress.com/2016/05/19/is-donald-trump-serious-when-he-claims-that-bill-pryor-with-nude-pictures-at-badpuppy-com-gay-porn-web-site-in-his-background-is-fit-for-scotus/

There are other sites ( not mainstream ) that have had this information for YEARS.

That's not the problem.   His anti constitutionAL actions are the problem

Many of Trump's legions would support that...that skinhead look, you know.

So if by "actions", you mean that William Pryor has made anti-constitutional decisions as a judge before? So why the general acceptance of his name as one of the possible justices Trump will nominate from Republicans?

No.  99-1 means he's ineffectual.  That wouldn't be an issue on the Supreme Court.

I don't think he wants the job.  I just wish he did.

True.  On the Supreme Court he'd lose no worse than 8-1.   ^-^

Who pissed in your post toasties?  I can't think of many people more qualified for a seat on SCOTUS than Ted Cruz!

OOPS!  Old eyes sometimes miss things!  I'll withdraw my post right now.

I like Don Willett, too, although he wasn't a big Trump fan, I think he'd be a great pick for SCOTUS.

@GrouchoTex

Willett would be an excellent choice.

Cruz has said he isn't interested in being on the Supreme Court.

Why?

@skeeter

To prevent him from running for the presidency again?   :cross:

Its just that for the past 6 months Tom crapped on TC every chance he got. I'm curious why he now says TC would be a good SCOTUS pick.

The Republican Senate can just take the Nuclear option.  The Dems demonstrated it to us years ago.  The Republicans can not be stopped if they have the gonads to stand up to the dems with this option.

That's odd.

I didn't see Larry Klayman's name on that list.

And that's exactly why he needs to stay in the Senate!

Rumor has it the Cruz is on the list for Trump's Attorney General. I'd much rather see him as the AG, or stay in the Senate than a SCOTUS justice .... IMHO his talents would be wasted and he would be stifled.  Secondly, Cruz has stated several times he's not interested in being a justice; he wants to run for re-election of the Senate and then onto the presidency.

IMO Trump never meant a word he said back then.  It was all part of the show, part of the celebrity routine.

How could he sue from the bench? He'd be totally lost.
