Trump is not what we are used to. We expect Republicans to run as Conservatives and then govern like and with Democrats once they get elected.

Trump will not do this. He has an agenda and he is not playing games. There are big changes coming across the board in all entitlements, not just Obamacare. Work requirements and drug testing for welfare and food stamps may be among them.

The biggest question is whether or not the good ol' boys in Congress will stab him in the back, and join with the Democrats to oppose his agenda. I trust Trump to follow through more than I do the RINOs in Congress. But even if they do, Obama has set the precedent for how to get around Congress. We shall see.

Not worth getting your panties in a wad over it just yet. Unless one gives the liberal news media more credibility than they deserve. He was goaded by the reporter  to give a controversial answer in which the media is having a heyday with at your expense.

Expect much more of this between now and January - trying to divide and cause great damage to the incoming administration.

For right now, we ended the Clinton corruption.  January 20, 2017, we get rid of Hussein.  Two major accomplishments.  Next...all of us must demand that Trump do what he promised to do.  We cannot just sit back complacently if 'they' start to slack off or reverse course.  That is no longer acceptable.  They work for US.

Just remember the last line of Orwells 1984

"He gazed up at the enormous face. Forty years it had taken him to learn what kind of smile was hidden beneath the dark moustache. O cruel, needless misunderstanding! O stubborn, self-willed exile from the loving breast! Two gin-scented tears trickled down the sides of his nose. But it was all right, everything was all right, the struggle was finished. He had won the victory over himself. He loved Big Brother."

Still better than Hitlery.   We dodged a bullet there.

That remains to be seen.

It is more important to focus on Congress to do what we want them to do. So far Trump has not betrayed us. However Congress has consistently betrayed us for decades. It is Congress, not Trump, that I am worried about.

The ACA should be fixed rather than scrapped.   There's about a half dozen things that could be done,  rather easy fixes,  that would make the law work as intended, as a marketplace for AFFORDABLE individual insurance policies.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-elections/donald-trump-obamacare-repeals-latest-policies-quote-replacement-president-elect-a7412621.html

Donald Trump has said that he might not repeal Obamacare, perhaps his biggest campaign promise. The President-elect performed the apparent U-turn after his meeting with Barack Obama at the White House this week, he has said. Mr Trump is going to look at "amending" the Affordable Care Act, rather than completely repealing it, he told the Wall Street Journal.

We warned ya'll that Donald is susceptible to flattery.  Obama was probably nice to him.

Still, let's wait and see what he really does.

Before the primaries began, I said a GOP-controlled House and Senate...who would win on his coattails, would keep him from 'getting too crazy'.

But make no mistake.  Trump holds the better hand.  He brought millions of Reagan Democrats over and, well, if you want to KEEP them, .......

The Republican Party needs to be the Party of the working man.  The Democrat Party is at this time, Domestic Enemy #1.   They prove it every day on the news.

I agree.  The media loves to stir things up.  Let's see what he ends up doing.  I hope he scraps the program entirely and starts over.  Better than trying to fix such a broken plan.

And this is what is concerning.

In order to keep the "Reagan Democrats" "working man" whatever one wants to call them, I hope that doesn't mean we are going to see an expansion of government and new programs. I heard some of his speech on the radio and it sounds to me like he is going to chase after another BHO type stimulus in the name of fixing our "infrastructure."

Those of us who favor limited government and fiscal sanity may be homeless for a while although keeping my fingers crossed that the Republicans in Congress hold the line on Trump's spending desires

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

The difference I see/predicit?    Obama lied to everyone regarding "shovel-ready' jobs.   That money was sent to the dozens of BLUE states to fund their Sanctuary City, welfare....it was used to fun SEIC union coffers.

Trump will actually use it to PAY unemployed laborers to repair bridges and roads and pipes.

That remains to be seen.

If this story turns out to be true, watch his supporters suddenly become the biggest proponents of the ACA :silly:

In fact, I'm anticipating watching them become supportive, or at least indifferent, to our rising  debt and deficits.

This sounds alot like "collectivism has failed because the right people weren't in charge of it"

The so called shovel ready jobs are and were just not there. At least in the numbers to be used as a massive jobs program. It looks like another Keynesian model economic stimulus is coming our way. The bright spot in all of this is the GOP Congress may have something to say

@montanajoe

Indeed.

The caveat in all of this is the GOP House and Senate. They will probably put the brakes on Trump's big government dreams. I'm safe in saying his Maternity leave proposal is done for now

Dude ....

Can't you give us a full damned week of savoring Clintons defeat before running your stupid mouth?

He is now the President elect, soon to be President. If he walked back his stance on illegal immigration and embraced full amnesty today should people not run their "stupid mouth's" just because he won an election and we should just savor Clinton's defeat?

Now there are conflicting stories regarding his stance on ObamaCare. Time will tell which one turns out to be true.

The saddest part is the fact that he's not actually walking anything back. He's just turning back to a previous position and he laid out multiple positions on virtually every single issue.

He shouldn't fully repeal it IMO. He should replace the most egrecious pieces with something better.

Millions of people depend on the program, they shouldn't be kicked off.

Lol, true.

My gut tells me he' s going to be a bigger, badder version of BHO if he gets his way.

Full repeal. We then can work on the issues facing healthcare after that but by keeping the law, conservatives then are admitting that it was a good law but it has problems that need tweaking.

Encouraging more people to be dependent on the government always turns out bad in the end
