War *IS* politics by other means.

Politics *IS* war by other means.

This article is just plain stupidity.  For Levin shows that he doesn't understand the above truism.

Many of us are not voting for Trump to promote conservatism, nor are we claiming that our vote against Hillary is advancing the conservative agenda.

It is plain and simple damage control.

That is rational thinking.

A day late and a dollar short.

This needed to be done in the primaries.

As soon as Trump won the GOP primaries, America lost.

And those that voted for Trump in the primaries bear his mark for it.

I know what his criticisms WERE, but if this stuff he spouted for Trump isn't shilling for him, what is?

You do not vote for liberals to promote Conservatism.

But somehow we have allowed ourselves to think that voting AGAINST someone is advancing the Conservative agenda.

Imbecillic thinking.

What is our you think he was spouting?

No, it's not a war. It's an election. No one dies or gets maimed or kills.

It's an election.

You are 100% correct.

But I have to do whatever I can possibly do to prevent Clinton from continuing & enlarging Obama's legacy.

Trump is a tourniquet,   not a cure.

Then I realized I had been doing that since Dole - and since then, the GOP has simply flung itself further and further Left - until it is now indistinguishable from the Democrats, even to the point of pushing a lifelong NYC Liberal Democrat as their party head.

Did it never occur to you that some of this leftward lurching is the consequence of tidal forces beyond our control?

Yes,  by today's standards,   John F. Kennedy would be regarded as a right winged extremist.    It is we who have not moved that are now regarded as an extremist fringe.   Modern society is caught in the grasp of social forces we do not completely understand,  but which exert a powerful pull in the direction of decadence.

And this has happened many times in history.

The bible is rife with examples of the rise and fall of Israel,  and following the exact same pattern of behavior.

Not beyond our control.  This people have chosen for men to be saviors and their government to be their god.

When this people refused to be self governed by God, tyrants were going to forge their chains.

Here we are.

Modern society is caught in the grasp of social forces we do not completely understand,  but which exert a powerful pull in the direction of decadence.

It's called human nature - with a heavy dose of Satan.  Safeguards were put in place to check the avarice of human nature and the state of people to prefer to be slaves.

And this has happened many times in history.

Exactly.  Which is why we were warned to listen to the lessons they scream at us.

This people have either refused, saying it cannot happen here or are wholly ignorant - willfully so of history's lessons.

The bible is rife with examples of the rise and fall of Israel,  and following the exact same pattern of behavior.

Absolutely.

Do you think God was pleased when His Ancient People people kept deciding on one evil judge as a stop gap for another judge they thought was worse?

Eventually their nation did what each man pleased in his own eyes and they were wiped from existence.

Same as our fate will be.

And we cannot say we were not warned.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775
