... If someone doesn't want to provide a product or a service, for whatever reason, the government has no right to force them to. Forcing someone to give up their labor hours at the point of law is slavery. I don't really see this as a moral issue per se.

You are either free to do business with people you want and NOT do business with people you don't want to do business with,or you ain't free. There IS no middle-ground on this.

As for the so-called "damaged parties",they are perfectly free to go to other bakeries and order their cakes. Nobody is trying to,or even wants to stop them. That's the great thing about freedom. It's a two-way street.

What's wrong with that if you don't want blacks in your restaurant? Are you keeping them from going to restaurants where they,and their money,are welcome?

BTW,it might not be illegal for a white man to go to a black bar or restaurant in a black neighborhood these days,but it might as well be because you are almost certain to be physically attacked. Why is it nobody in the media complains about THAT?

You'd be surprised with what the first few administrations got done. Things like funding missionaries to the Indians and such. We would be remiss to interpret the Constitution completely outside of it's context. For instance the words you quoted aren't in the Constitution so be careful they may not mean what you think they mean.

They are in an amendment. Don't even try to pretend they aren't a part of our established legal code. This was settled in court  long ago.
