Leaked Army video shows a future of urban hellscapes

The Intercept got hold of an Army video that warns of the complexities of maintaining military control in the cities of the future. The megacities of the future (population >10M), the video asserts, will be more densely populated and socially and politically complex than anything we know today. People will be stacked up—people living in high-rise apartments, at street level, and below the streets—with distinct political and social systems at each level.

Interesting video.

There's no doubt third world megacities may end up like this.

Although in The West, we are beginning to see elements of it, such as the "no-go" zones in cities like Paris, etc.

Anyplace here in the USA qualify, yet…?

These apocalyptic predictions never really account for technology and innovation growing faster than the population. Even in places where you think it may be stifled, innovation has outpaced population growth in many regards.

The only thing that can kill that human spirit is idiocracy (see Monsanto conspiracies for example).

Futurists are wrong at least as much as they're right.

In the 70s they said I would be living in the middle of a vast megacity stretching from NY to DesMoines. Today I still live in the same county with a population of around 120,000 people which is actually quite rural.
