The principles of Conservatism are inherent in Trump's economic (fair trade, low taxes, minimal regulations), judicial (Constitutionalists) and national security (secure borders, applying the rule of law to immigration, meaningful vetting, and a strong, well-run military for the 21st century) proposals.

Scratch the surface and stop looking for a damn label.

No, they are not. What you have is a pocket full of promises. Promises which he has already either broken outright, or modified to the point of insignificance.

And in the mean time, the neocons remain firmly in charge of the Republicans. With his blessing.

You're buying a pig in a poke.

Hillary appreciates your support.

One of an immoral character is incapable of being otherwise. Low character is intrinsically untrustworthy.

Hillary appreciates your support.

A distinction without a difference, between the two.

If you want Conservative support, start with a Conservative.

It is the intent behind the words - not the words themselves. And I doubt you'd know what an alpha male is, from your implied description.

Yes better to turn the country into a lawless banana republic than to vote for the guy that used the p word.  The half of this country has gone insane.

Like BHO supporters, they are molding him into what they hope. And he can throw out those promises because, obviously, he has never held public office to scrutinize any voting record. At least BHO had a left of center voting record for his supporters to mold him with.

So,with the understanding that someone who runs for office will tell you during the course of a campaign things you want to hear to get your vote, traditionally we would look at their voting record to get an idea if their positions are real. Since we don't have that with Trump, the next option is to look at past statements and positions. While he is certainly not a leftist, he could be classified as more left of center. Universal healthcare, higher taxes, increase in the minimum wage, more spending and entitlements, a belief that we shouldn't touch SS and Medicare, assault weapons bans, supporting the ObamaCare mandate, punitive tarriffs, ect ect are all left of center positions that Trump has taken in the past. I get that people can change. But excuse my skepticism if those changes come during a campaign were he needs my vote to win

I maintain that Trump, should he win, nay prove my fears wrong and I will gleefully admit my misjudgment should that happen. But for now, I'll maintain my healthy skepticism

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

It is your unfortunate circumstance to be in support of that half.

Hillary appreciates your support.

Hillary is less a threat to our liberty in the short term than from Trump.

Trump and his mobs of thugs are a far greater threat to Conservatives who still hold to principles than from the known Mao Pantsuit.

The death threats and promises of 'remembering' who refused to vote and genuflect your prince from the likes of you people are growing more shrill and frequent.

Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

YEP. Hopey-changey all over again. Although I would differ with you in that Trump's record is long and publically available - That it is not a 'voting record' per se is of little consequence.

Indeed, it is inherent to Conservatism to disbelieve promises from the stump without history to back it up. People who are conservative don't change much in their positions, because their positions are founded in principle.

Principle- First things. Things that are inherently TRUE.

The writing is on the wall - He hasn't changed. Predictably he will revert to form once he has secured his position.

Incorrect, the battle is to save the country.

People who think electing one person to high office as a savior of the country are the serious danger and reason we are no longer a representative republic in all practicality.

A people who demand a monarch or dictator for the Executive embrace the fundamental transformation of crony Fascism/Nationalist Populism and Socialism.  And I have read on myriad fora the cheers over suggestions Trump just act by decree with extreme prejudice against all those whom they assert are 'the problem'.

Your prince exemplifies every single character flaw and trait that dooms a people to ruin, while the Mao Pantsuit plays you all like fiddles with her instrument that you have grafted all your hopes and dreams for prosperity and punishment upon.

The country will be lost forever if Hillary becomes POTUS...
Elect Trump and conservatives live to fight another day, elect Hillary and American conservatism is dead and so is our constitution.

Yawn.

Same bullsheist was emphatically insisted back in 2012, and all you people do is go further and further Left - until the GOP and their party members are so far up the Democrat's asses, I do not know where Democrats end, or Republicans begin.

But then enter Trump the NYC Liberal disguised as a Republican and watch all you chicken littles moan and wail about not supporting the guy who said he did not need nor want our support.   Unlike you, we did not forget that Trump funded his opponent myriad times, praised her tenure in office multiple times and endorsed, campaigned for and funded Communist Bill DeBlasio for NYC mayor three years ago.  We judge the fruits - not the ever-changing words and positions that put him on every side of every single issue.

Because Trump IS the ass of the Democrat Party hiding as a Trojan Stalking Horse in plain sight, and it is amusing if not disconcerting to watch so many crawl up his hind end because they think he will save them and the country.

This is what happens when a people who reject God and Principles, demand a king.

Oh, I'm confident we will see more debt and more increase in the size and scope of the federal government under Trump, all cheered on by his supporters who wailed about BHO.

But anything is possible

The minimizing of admitted sexual assault to use of a 'bad word' is the sign of a complete lack of the ability to tell right from wrong.

I am embarrassed for these people.  They are admitting that women are dirt and that men have the right to grab them whenever they feel like it.

This is perversion, and they're PROUD of it.
Character still matters.  It always matters.

I wear a mask as an exercise in liberty and love for others.  To see it as an infringement of liberty is to entirely miss the point.  Be kind.

It is sincerely meant.

I have been so encouraged by the real men on this forum who have stood up for the honor of women, and you are among the finest.

So thank you from all the women who don't appreciate the degradation of women by the Trump zealots.

I love that quote so much that I have saved it and will post it on my FB page.

You are right about standing apart from darkness, and are right about calling what Trump stands for and who he is "evil."

I firmly believe we will pay for the choices made in this election.

In fact, I believe that these two candidates are actually the punishment God is giving us for the choice that America has made to walk in darkness.

Naaaaah. He who Is stays out of trivial pursuits like elections. But that was Him you heard
with a stentorian "ho ho ho!" calling down to His foolish children:

You're fool enough to pick these two, you can just live with that choice and the net results.
I will always be here to help you pick up the pieces, I am not a deadbeat Father by any mean,
but now you know why I don't get involved directly in your politics. You think I became He who
knows, He who is all wise, He who sits above temporal things, by getting mixed up in politics?
Unlike you, My beloved but foolish children, I learned My lesson when I was fool enough to let

ain't going to be shame on Me again . . .

I think I may be more of a Calvinist than you are, Easy.

I'm pretty sure (though obviously not positive) that Trump and Hillary are punishments for our egregious sin against Him.  I think he blessed America until we kicked him out and went the way of Gomorrah.

But who knows?  Maybe you're right and politics is just a human thing and the Criminal and the Creep are just the natural consequence of our being stupid, sinful people and ignoring any kind of truth....

You have to remember another gift we were given by God: free will.

If we were as wise as Him, we couldn't possibly have let things get to the point where we've devolved from
George Washington vs. John Adams in the first presidential contest to Donaldus Minimus and Hilarious Rodent
Clinton in the current presidential contest.

Come to think of it, we've been heading this way for long enough---that's part of what happens when you start
thinking of the presidency as a kind of elected throne for a king or a queen, instead of a mere chief executive
who's supposed to be kept in line and answerable to a board of directors known as Congress. (And just how
will Donaldus Minimus and Hilarious Rodent affect the down-ticket races?)

God learned His lesson with King Saul. We aren't that smart yet.
