The Clinton campaign’s recent attacks on Donald Trump for his comments about a beauty queen’s weight problems were months in the making, according to an opposition research report uncovered in emails released by WikiLeaks on Sunday.

The answer is: in a 157-page opposition research file that Clinton’s campaign had been using since at least Dec. 19, 2015, the day research director Tony Carrk emailed it – and research files on Sens. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio – to Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta. Podesta’s emails were subsequently hacked and more than 25,000 of them have been released so far by anti-secrecy group WikiLeaks.

It was well planned, because they knew Trump was easily baited. They knew Trump would freak out and spend  week Tweeting about this like some insane person.

They also knew his sycophants would follow him into hell thus damaging conservatives in the process. Twofer.

I'm sorry: can you tell me why I'm supposed to be outraged? I mean, as someone who doesn't support Trump, I'm disgusted that the rest of the Republican party didn't get this out before Orange Julius could be nominated. But for a Trump supporter, where's the outrage? This is what campaigns do: they investigate their opponents, they use strategy to determine the best time to release the dirt. The Clinton campaign waited until their preferred candidate was the nominee, then they let fly.

So she didn't just 'appear two weeks before the election' as was claimed, Trump's antics were known (as many warned)

Would you PLEASE stop destroying the Trumpist narrative? It is unfair of you to say true things. That causes problems for a certain faction here.

You have the lower tier of leftists trying to play in the big leagues. It was inevitable. they know the rulebook but can't carry out the leftism like a top tier liberal would.

Useful idiots. Thats EXACTLY why the left used it's epsilons for cannon fodder. They go out and inflict max damage to everyone they associate with, then implode. And the actual Left is blame free in the public eye because their cannon fodder screamed long and loud how conservative they were.

  • I don't believe in Trump anymore, he's an illusion
I'm shocked, shocked I say, that the democrats actually know how to run a campaign, organize and plan their attacks ahead of time unlike Lord Orange Julius who just thinks he can pull a campaign out of his asspertame with no planning or organization. I think it would be hilarious if after he loses Hillary calls him up and yells "Your Fired" while cackling like a witch, and Trump will have no one to blame but himself. :silly: :silly: :silly:

Her acceptance speech election night. "The American people called, Donald...You're FIRED!"

It would serve him and his followers right to have the witch rub it in. And be totally in character for her besides.

@Bunny Watson

You bring up some good points Bunny.  They (4 or 5 of the 16) tried in the primaries, His NY Liberalism, his numerous flip/flops on multiple issues were pointed out many times, Rubio even climbed down into the gutter with him in exposing his wife's flattering/unflattering pics as a model.
   All in Vain.

Scorched Earth Policy is generally frowned on in the GOP Primary unless of course your an Affirmative Action hire because your skin pigment is orange.

I agree 100%. If the Republicans had found and exposed this (and other dirty laundry), we may well have been spared the spectacle of Trump as the Republican nominee. The Clinton camp must have been out of their minds with glee when it became official that she'd be running against Trump.

She even signaled that she would be baiting him in her acceptance speech. And yet, he fell right into her trap. Just duh. I'd do the same thing if my opponent were as quick to take the bait as Trump is.

Trump didn't even allow his own campaign to do oppo research on him and prepare for this stuff

Makes you wonder why the GOP powers that be didn't expose this cretin during the Primary.  Did they actually WANT to lose to Hillary??  Because anyone with an IQ of 100 who has paid any attention to politics KNEW that the Dems would use Donny's sleazy, scuzzbucket past against him in the general.

So why didn't they save us all this embarrassment and destruction? Did the Republican party TRY to self-destruct??

Because ALL of us knew this was going to happen.

I know. You would have thought something was up when he prevented his own camp from looking into possible stumbling blocks. This has been a perfect storm of bungles, gaffes and embarrassing revelations that have allowed the Trump train to destroy any chances we had of winning in 2016. Now it's even possible that we can lose the senate. Thank you, Trumpsters.

Some of GOP candidates did try to attack Trump.  Rubio for one.

But, if you remember, Chris Christie undercut him with his Mr. Roboto attack.  That dried up the funding needed to run a good oppo research team.

And Jeb focused all his money against Rubio as well.  Only when he was nearly out of the race did he realize That Trump was the target to beat.  (Too little, too late)

Cruz tried to ride Trump's coattails at the beginning, seeking to swoop in and get his voters once someone else took Trump out.  He didn't even start focusing on Trump until after Rubio left the race.

Kasich did try, but no one was listening.  And his campaign was not as well-funded as others.

Carson and Christie were in the tank for Trump shortly after Trump entered the race.

That is squarely where the blame lies.

We will have a Hillary presidency because of the idiocy of the Trumpsters forcing him down our throats during the primary.

It's going to be hard to forget their part in the damaging of the Conservative movement and the country we love......

I still think it was intended and well-planned for him to lose this way.

Carson only supported Trump AFTER Trump compared him to a pedophile.  Yeah.......... that made a lot of sense...

And Rubio just didn't voice his opposition well.  He needed to sound more like the adult in the room rather than lower himself to the level of Trump.  Hard to do, I'm sure, but it would have elevated Rubio instead of knocking him down a peg.

But you're right.  Kasich tried to sound the alarm, but no one paid attention.

I wish they had.....

I'm convinced the GOP decided on Hillary as soon as it became clear it was gonna be either Cruz or Trump.

I want to be peeved at Cruz for not taking the low road and revealing all of this stuff 9 months ago. But thats unfair because a) its not who he is and b) the MSM would have never carried his water as they wanted him out of the race and Trump the party's nominee.

@Bunny Watson

I had a friend who worked with an opposition research company - that was their business - doing opposition research.  Good for the Clinton campaign to search out the background of candidates.  I read Trump would not let his campaign do research on him to find out what others could use against him.  So, it all came out from the Clinton campaign instead of being dealt with by his campaign.  In two words, "Tough Cookie".

This is a GOP that pinned literal medals on Clinton, tanked their own candidates on several occasions and pulled race cards in the process. So it's easy to believe.

Apparently the PTB would rather lose with Trump than win with Cruz.

You're likely right, but he got at least one vote for POTUS today.
