At least 11 dead after tour bus, truck crash in Calif.

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — At least 11 people were killed Sunday when a tour bus and a truck collided on Interstate 10 near this resort city 100 miles east of Los Angeles, authorities said.

The California Highway Patrol officer Stephanie Hamilton said all the fatalities were traveling in the tour bus. The truck driver was unhurt.

Hamilton said the death toll could rise as rescuers make their way through the tangled crash scene.

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — Investigators in southern California were trying to determine why a tour bus plowed into the back of a tractor-trailer truck on Interstate 10 early Sunday, killing 13, including the bus driver.
