Florida: (Gov.) Scott renews fight over tax money for job incentives

TALLAHASSEE – The state is adding more jobs each month and wages are ticking upward, but Florida's main economic development agency – while touting its successes – is in turmoil and undergoing a massive reorganization.

It's driven mainly by a philosophical dispute between Gov. Rick Scott and a cadre of his fellow Republicans in charge of the Legislature, led by Rep. Richard Corcoran of Land O'Lakes, who is slated to become House Speaker after the elections.

Scott says taxpayer funds are needed to draw large companies in high-wage sectors such as technology and aerospace that can make the state less reliant on tourism and construction. Corcoran doesn't think the government should subsidize the private market.

"Florida has to compete with 49 other states and global markets across the world for jobs, and I will fight to make sure we have every available tool to remain competitive," Scott stated during Enterprise Florida's board meeting on Thursday.

You already are bringing jobs in you bald headed douche. Hedge funds from NY and CT are moving down there because of how bad the taxes are in their former states. This whole thing wreaks to me of crony capitalism.
