Because everything possible is not everything moral.  Just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD do it.  Trump manipulates bankruptcy laws and the tax code so that he removes the burden from his billionaire self and places it on the little guy.  THIS MAKES HIM UNFIT FOR THE PRESIDENCY right along with his vile temperament and vindictiveness.

John Adams sounds prophetic with that description because it fits Trump to a T.

av·a·rice
ˈavərəs/
noun
noun: avarice

extreme greed for wealth or material gain.

Except that..... back then....not even John Adams could have envisioned or conceived of such an immoral, greedy person as Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton.  And the rampant dishonesty in both candidates would have blown Adams' mind.   In fact, I'm sure it's blowing a lot of minds right now...in the present.
No quarter given to the enemy within...ever.

You can vote your way into socialism, but you have to shoot your way out of it.

That is another good point. Not long after this bailout (he has had more bailouts than GM)...

Fascists love bailouts.

Quote
"In actual fact, it is the State, i.e. the taxpayer, who has become responsible to private enterprise. In Fascist Italy the State pays for the blunders of private enterprise. As long as business was good, profit remained to private initiative. When the depression came, the Government added the loss to the tax-payer's burden. Profit is private and individual. Loss is public and social."
--Under the Axe of Fascism, by Gaetano Salvemini, p. 416 (1936).

"In December 1932 a Fascist financial expert, Signor Mazuchelli, estimated that more than 8.5 billion lire had been paid out by the Government from 1923 to 1932 in order to help depressed industries (Rivista Bancaria, December 15th, 1932, p.1,007). From December 1932 to 1935 the outlay must have doubled."
--Under the Axe of Fascism, by Gaetano Salvemini (1936).

The bailouts were targeted to large corporations but not small businesses.

Maybe even splain how Bubbette! and Bubba went from "broke" according to her when they left the WH,to having more than 200 million now.

Not to mention how Bubbette! Jr with nothing but a lame-ass BS degree in history and no actual work history at all now has a net worth of around 30 million,IIRC.

Yeah,we know she has had two 6-figure "No-Show" jobs since graduating from college and now works for the family carnival, but WHAT actually qualifies her to pull in that kind of salary?

Bubette already did so.  15 years worth of tax returns.

As the GOP Presidential candidate, Trump is no longer considered a private citizen.

Therefore, the premise of this article is false.

@HonestJohn

You assume that any post coming from Sundance is premised on anything beyond the lack of available oxygen for his head in his sphincter.
How to lose credibility while posting:
1. Trump is never wrong.
2. Default to the most puerile emoticon you can find. This is especially useful when you can't win an argument on merits.
3. Be falsely ingratiating, completely but politely dismissive without talking to the points, and bring up Hillary whenever the conversation is really about conservatism.
4. When all else fails, remember rule #1 and #2. Emoticons are like the poor man's tweet!

No, I recognize that the 'conservativetreehouse' is a nutbag site, spouting the deranged ravings of a lunatic.

Unfortunately, Trump supporters believe the lunatic and, without rebuttal, will spread the deranged nuttery to anyone reading.

Trump should look at the bright side of this.

Few people read the NYT's anyways

Except that the story is syndicated from cost to cost. I first read it in our Sunday Seattle Times.

That is another good point. Not long after this bailout (he has had more bailouts than GM) he was calling for a wealth tax to pay down the debt.

BUT, as I pointed out in a few posts, this isn't about his avoiding taxes or even losing money, it is about every single attack he claims to have, it generally is worse for himself. He talks about others being owned by Wall Street, the Saudis, and Soros, but the amount of money they provided him in bailouts is staggering.

It also shows, as others mentioned, he isn't that great of a business man after all, he has been riding on his name and leveraging his properties. From at least 1988 until 2008, his business strategy is to run up as much debt as possible and then either go bankrupt or get bailed out.

We don't like government bailouts- he was bailed out in 1990 for billions.

In 1995, after once again running up almost a billion in debt, he gets bailed out by Saudi Arabia.

In 2008, after a devastating loss on his far over-leveraged Chicago property, he is bailed out to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars (up to a billion) by George Soros.

And this is just the tip of the iceberg.

I've been warning for over a year this would come to light and hurt him.

So who owns Trump again?

Based on his business history, how is he going to bail out the US debt? Ask for money from the Chinese or Saudis?

As I understand the matter, Trump is such a poor businessman that he would be substantially richer if had simply put the money he got from daddy into an index fund and left it there.

So, I assume that the Trump "campaign" - if such a disastrous crew of incompetents could really be called a campaign - has provided the statutory basis for claiming the NYT acted illegally in obtaining and publishing his tax information.

Some 45% of Americans don't pay federal income taxes.  But 99% of those making over $1 million did:

How quickly things fade from the current crush ..

Quote
10 Aug 2016

Following up on some mega disclosures last week, Judicial Watch released 105 pages of newly obtained FBI “302” documents revealing that, beginning in 2010 and lasting through the Obama reelection campaign in 2012, the IRS orchestrated a deliberate policy of burying conservative groups’ tax-exemption applications in bureaucratic delays.

Interviews with numerous Cincinnati IRS employees in mid-2013 reveal that “Tea Party” group applications were automatically denied approval and assigned to a special “Group 7822” for an extended “inventory” process while waiting for decisions from IRS headquarters in Washington, DC.

We previously released 294 pages of FBI 302 documents revealing that top Washington IRS officials, including Lois Lerner, who was interviewed in June 2013 and again in October 2013, knew that the agency was specifically targeting Tea Party and other conservative organizations two full years before disclosing it to Congress and the public. We’ve documented how Lois Lerner and the IRS worked with Obama Justice Department and FBI in an effort to prosecute the very groups the IRS was suppressing.  Between this and the actual investigation being compromised by an Obama donor at the Justice Department (see below), the Obama Justice Department and FBI investigations into the Obama IRS scandal resulted in no criminal charges.

You've probably eaten several and didn't even know it.
