Which works to both of their advantages, actually. No one is discussing her sins, and this is relatively minor, except that it is just a long ago part of an ongoing pattern of behaviour, and is the squirrel he is chasing today--which saves him from having to address more substantive issues, too.

Nah. It wasn't Hillary the (long ago) attack was directed at. Hillary just dragged it out to wave at Trump. We'd have had little sympathy for Hillary if he'd have called her 'Miss Piggy', but would have shot himself in the foot, again, again. After all, we have our pet names for the PIAPS, too.
Trump should have said, I was wrong, it was long ago, and I apologize for being so insensitive (supporting the idea of his new, improved, reformed Republican self--even though those who watched him with Fiorina and Heidi Cruz would know better, it might play for the LIVs). End of story, really.
But no. Bad form, bad move, not smart politically.
