Just adding here that his calling a Latino woman "Miss Housekeeping" was also disparaging and out of line.

The focus has been on the vile "Miss Piggy" comment, but the degrading "Miss Housekeeping" is also an indicator of a weak, nasty personality disorder.

I know the supposed 'contract' keeps being brought up, but I challenge anyone to make these comments to a subordinate employee at any workplace and see how long you last. Even if there was a contract that would have held up in court, if they tried to after those comments, she could easily have a wrongful termination and harassment suit on her hands. That would be much bigger of a deal than a vague employment contract that I doubt would be enforcable for small weight gains if challenged.

The Brooklyn Brain Trust that runs Hillary Clinton’s campaign didn’t do its vetting properly.  David Martosko of the UK Daily Mail:

Quote
The former Miss Universe at the center of a bitter exchange in Monday's presidential debate was accused of aiding a would-be murderer and threatening to kill a judge, it has emerged.

Alicia Machado was named by Hillary Clinton as having been shamed for her weight in 1996 by Donald Trump, when she was Miss Universe and he bought the beauty contest, by being called 'Miss Piggy' when she gained weight. (snip)

…two Associated Press reports from 1998 have revealed the Machado was accused of aiding attempted murder and threats to kill in Venezuela.

DailyMail.com has asked the Clinton campaign whether they knew about the accusations, which do not appear to have ended in conviction, before the candidate spoke about her at the debate.

She also made a number of porno films, as Alex Pfeiffer of the Daily Caller reports:

Quote
Former Miss Universe winner Alicia Machado, who has been campaigning against Republican nominee Donald Trump for the Hillary Clinton campaign, has appeared in pornographic videos.

Snippets of an adult film starring Machado are available on multiple free porn websites. Machado also appeared topless in Mexican Playboy in 2006 and 2012..

It was too good to check, as the old newsie joke goes, when a Hispanic former beauty queen came forward with heartbreaking tales of abuse at the hands of mean old sexist Donald Trump.  A guy who makes fun of Hispanic women and overweight women is making fun of a sizable voting bloc.

But the context of Trump’s comments matter.  She was named Miss Universe, signed a contract to perform certain duties, and promptly gained so much weight as to be unable to perform the visual functions of a beauty queen.  Yes, that is lookism.  That is what beauty pageants are.  People like to look at beautiful things.  Machado did not behave in a responsible fashion.

Her Wikipedia page scrubbed from when i saw it this morning! **nononono*
Here is what I saw this morning......

She won in 1996 (20 years ago)
In 1997 she was arrested along with her boyfriend of attempted murder. She was driving the getaway car.  Her very influential Venezuela family got her off, at which time she told the judge that she would ruin him and then kill him  ( nice girl!)
She later started dating a baseball player (forgot his name) and was staring on a reality show where she lived in a house with other people. She and one of her male costars had sex on the air!
Her baseball player BF ddropped her.
.
She then became pregnant. Her family told everyone it was some rich  latino guy, when in reality, it was a head of a drug cartel in Venezuela.

So she was the all american girl 888high58888

If anyone watched Megyn last night,  **nononono* that  girl was clueless. Meg asked her about the miss piggy and housekeeping comments and she replied that it was so long ago and never answered Megyn. Megyn saw that the woman had no idea what she was doing and she never said trumps name at all! It was bizarre. Megyn read her a quote she gave to the WAPO in 1997 a bout anorexia and bulimia, and beauty pageants and how she and all the girls had the disorders.
Today, she is saying it happend after Trump  supposedly called her Piggy.
When Megyn finished, she was floundering, saying that it wasnt true, and that  trump caused her eating disorders :silly:
Did I mention a burned out light bulb is brighter than her?

Lastly, there are weight clauses in the Miss America and Miss USA/Universe pageants and their state affiliates. Which have nothing to do with Trump :patriot:
Which raises the question why was Trump on such close terms with with this gal. After all Trump has been the perfect gentleman. We know that Trump knows how to treat women with decency and respect this gal was probably just bleeding out of her whatever. /serious sarcasm.

"Well she deserved it." May not be the best approach, but hey carry on. Tie her to the tracks and run the Trump train over her. I'm sure that will convince more women to come vote for Trump.

Stop !!  Most American women are a little overweight by Beauty Pageant standards.

Whether she gained 10 pounds, no pounds or a hundred pounds is not a significant issue to the future of this country.  How can you be so focused on it.

What matters is the utter mean nature of Donald Trump; his vanity, his crudeness and his stupidity are so clearly revealed in this entire thing.

888high58888   Once again, Trump degraded a female period.  There is no denying this one.  Here is the interview (look at how Trump 'leers' at here).  Granted this happened over 20 years ago, but nonetheless Donny was degrading towards her:

Regarding the porn videos mentioned upthread, apparently that is not her. It is the typical internet porn thing where they find someone slightly resembling someone famous and stick that person's name in the title for traffic.

She later started dating a baseball player (forgot his name) and was staring on a reality show where she lived in a house with other people. She and one of her male costars had sex on the air!
Her baseball player BF ddropped her.

The player was Bobby Abreu, longtime Phillies outfielder who also spent time with the Yankees, the Angels,
the Dodgers, and (briefly) the Mets, before he retired after the 2014 season.

Since Alicia Machado's Wikipedia page has indeed been scrubbed, the only thing remaining under her personal life
section is the broken engagement to Abreu.

What we have, essentially, is:

a) A high profile supporter of Hilarious Rodent Clinton who has had legal and ethical issues enough to warrant
serious questioning of the Clinton camp's ability to vet personnel at any level; and,

b) a Donaldus Minimus who seemed far more interested in her physical dimensions (leave the breach-of-contract
question to one side for the moment) and appearance, when lured into that trap by Hilarious Rodent, than he
was in whether such a weak vetting of her doesn't indicate potentially weak vetting of far more significant
players in a Clinton White House; and,

c) a Donaldus Minimus whose somewhat well known disdain for things like debate preparation doesn't exactly
bode well for a prospective President Trump's ability to prepare himself for far more weighty hours than
sharing a stage with Hilarious Rodent for debates that end up as reality television more than they do serious
discourse.

I mean, what does it tell you that Donaldus Minimus's supporters are giving that woman the deeper attention
Mr. Minimus was witless to entertain when afford the chance, and Hilarious Rodent and her people were witless to
engage before rolling her forth as a high profile campaigner and example of D.M.'s coarse disdain for certain examples
of feminine pulchritude?

Yep. "None of These Candidates" will remain my November vote. I'm grateful to live in a state which allows the option,
because I couldn't vote for either Donaldus Minimus nor Hilarious Rodent Clinton without wanting to puke.

Asserting that a major American party, the party of Lincoln, has allowed itself to nominate a clinically insane person?

@aligncare @Emjay

Insanity is no longer considered a medical diagnosis.

However, if we were to say he is mentally ill, suffering from an Axis II Cluster B disorder (at a minimum!), we would definitely be right, without any shadow of a doubt...in my unprofessional, nonmedical opinion.  Obviously, professionals have ethical restrictions that would prevent such a diagnosis ever being issued, because he will never seek treatment, but I'm more sure of it than I am of waking up in the morning.

And I honestly believe that anyone who doesn't believe that is ignorant of mental health, blinded by partisanship, or has some other inhibition to understanding.

What too many people here fail to see ... and they are not all Trump supporters ... is that nothing about this woman matters.  Nothing.

Not whether or not she has a shady past; not whether or not she gained weight or how much she gained.

This is all about Trump and his attitude toward women.  He was even a little snippy about Melania taking too long to lose her pregnancy fat.

He views women solely as sex objects and judges them by their appearance.  And he's mean and nasty about it.

Apparently, the Donald does not own a mirror.  He is a fat, stupid looking guy with ridiculous hair who could not get Miss Piggy into bed with him if he didn't have money.

Do you know how insane you sound? Asserting that a major American party, the party of Lincoln, has allowed itself to nominate a clinically insane person?

Or is that just partisan politics talking. That would be my guess.

Yes, I am asserting that a major American party ... perhaps the party of Lincoln ... perhaps not ... has nominated an insane person.

Clinically insane?  What is that?  He has many mental and emotional abnormalities.  Many health professionals have diagnosed him (just from things he says and does) as narcissistic.  He's apparently obsessive-compulsive (he has to do certain things, certain ways - well documented).

I don't think he's schizophrenic.  That's a plus.

So, yeah.  I think a portion of the Republican party has managed to nominate an insane person.  Prove me wrong.

Brava!!

I maintain that his debasement of women is due to his own incredible insecurity and need for attention.

Remember that he said he liked to surround himself with weaker, dumber people so he would be the smartest guy in the room and people would look up to him as superior?

This man has serious issues.

The reason he degrades women is that he is weak and impotent, and somewhere deep down inside his extremely unattractive self, he understands that.

One wonders......if, since his father seemed to 'dote' on him in his younger days, it was his mother that insisted on sending him off to military boarding school, due to not being able to handle his behavior.  It may well be that....if it was his mother that sent him away.... he (still) harbors intense resentment, if not outright hatred, for his mother ....and for all females, subsequently....for that slight that he may have never gotten over.   Hmmm....
