Syria: Hundreds of Militants Lay Down Arms in Damascus
TEHRAN (FNA)- Hundreds of militants stationed in Damascus countryside surrendered themselves and their weapons to the Syrian authorities to return to normal life as the soldiers of President Bashar al-Assad continue to recapture more regions across the country.
Nearly 250 militants were pardoned after surrendering to the government troops in the framework of the third phase of al-Qadam neighborhood reconciliation.
In a press statement from al-Qadam area, Damascus Countryside Governor Alaa Munir Ibrahim said that those who have surrendered have been pardoned and will return to their normal lives, adding that a large number of militants are to be pardoned in al-Qadam area as well as Qudsaya, al-Hameh, Wadi Barada and al-Tal areas in coming days following the amnesty decree no.15 which offers the opportunity to those who want to be normal citizens again.
