Well sink you have never liked Cruz so I take your opinion of what Cruz says and does with a grain of salt...and I think that was a nasty comment re Heidi

It was not about Heidi; it was about Cruz.  And Ted is about to learn a hard lesson:

Well, look, Cruz's nemesis just showed up. How do you feel now?

I'm not his nemesis.  I simply understand the man.  Cruz made a political calculation not to endorse--which hasn't worked quite as well as he'd hoped--so now he'll be making a new political calculation that an endorsement of Trump will pay a bigger political dividend.

This ain't rocket science @jmyrlefuller.   :shrug:

To the remaining rag-tag NeverTrumpers, and you know who you are:

You would love to get us Trump supporters into a protracted argument here.

But we know better. We know that letting you dangle in the breeze like this after those comments, makes your butt look bigger.

Think this will draw any undecided women voters over to Trump?  Think again.

Argument?  You don't have any arguments.  You, aligncare, have never advanced a SINGLE post of substance for Trump.  All you do is cheerlead and slam #NeverTrump.

Maybe, like Trump, you can't make any substantive arguments.  Your liberal is pulling a con job and anybody who falls for it is as dumb as a stump.

On Twitter, two groups are really angry about this: NeverTrumps and liberals. The latter is interesting. I wonder if they're sensing something I'm not picking up on. I actually wonder if this will be a boon for Trump or not. It might remember people of why they hated Trump in the first place... or... maybe enough GOPers will switch to Trump from third party or not voting? I have no idea.

As I recall, Cruz said at the convention to "vote your conscience." If his conscience now tells him it's okay to vote for Trump, okay. Who am I to argue?  If yours doesn't, okay. Who am I to argue?

I'll continue to let my conscience be my guide in this matter, as well.

Never trump right now:

Wow - that guy does NOT like losing at Settlers of Catan.
How to lose credibility while posting:
1. Trump is never wrong.
2. Default to the most puerile emoticon you can find. This is especially useful when you can't win an argument on merits.
3. Be falsely ingratiating, completely but politely dismissive without talking to the points, and bring up Hillary whenever the conversation is really about conservatism.
4. When all else fails, remember rule #1 and #2. Emoticons are like the poor man's tweet!

He didn't say at the convention whether his conscience would let him vote for Trump or not.  Everybody just assumed at the time it meant he could not, which told me a lot more about the Trump supporters than it did about Cruz.  They were essentially admitting they're violating their consciences by voting for Trump!

When I heard him say that, I assumed he meant "Vote for Trump" and I was genuinely surprised people didn't take it the same way I did.

I'm thinking the Mike Pence meeting helped put this thing into motion.

We all have to do what we think is best, is all I can really say.
Cruz endorsing Trump won't make me vote any sooner for Trump than GHWB endorsement of Hillary would make me vote for her.

Let's see how Trump now reacts.
Hopefully, the actions of both will be dignified from here on out, and some weird war between the two factions doesn't break out all over again.

Judging from what I've read around the net, the never Cruz people seem even more upset than the never Trump people.
Odd.

Quote
Ted Cruz on Facebook:

This election is unlike any other in our nation’s history. Like many other voters, I have struggled to determine the right course of action in this general election.

In Cleveland, I urged voters, “please, don’t stay home in November. Stand, and speak, and vote your conscience, vote for candidates up and down the ticket whom you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the Constitution.”

After many months of careful consideration, of prayer and searching my own conscience, I have decided that on Election Day, I will vote for the Republican nominee, Donald Trump.

Fine. Great.

I could not have said this any better. But please! Do NOT confuse this with an endorsement. Or think this means Senator Cruz is supporting Trump.

I will likely vote for Trump also. But - just like Cruz - I won't support him. My vote will really be a vote AGAINST Hillary more than anything else. Trump will just happen to be the beneficiary of it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ooops. Self Edit here. I just read the FULL text. Seems Ted IS supporting Donald. Too bad. He should have said nothing at all. Or left his remarks to what I posted above. But he went to far.....
Cruz's Facebook statement:
"This election is unlike any other in our nation’s history. Like many other voters, I have struggled to determine the right course of action in this general election.
In Cleveland, I urged voters, “please, don’t stay home in November. Stand, and speak, and vote your conscience, vote for candidates up and down the ticket whom you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the Constitution.”
After many months of careful consideration, of prayer and searching my own conscience, I have decided that on Election Day, I will vote for the Republican nominee, Donald Trump.
I’ve made this decision for two reasons. First, last year, I promised to support the Republican nominee. And I intend to keep my word.
Second, even though I have had areas of significant disagreement with our nominee, by any measure Hillary Clinton is wholly unacceptable — that’s why I have always been #NeverHillary.
Six key policy differences inform my decision. First, and most important, the Supreme Court. For anyone concerned about the Bill of Rights — free speech, religious liberty, the Second Amendment — the Court hangs in the balance. I have spent my professional career fighting before the Court to defend the Constitution. We are only one justice away from losing our most basic rights, and the next president will appoint as many as four new justices. We know, without a doubt, that every Clinton appointee would be a left-wing ideologue. Trump, in contrast, has promised to appoint justices “in the mold of Scalia.”
For some time, I have been seeking greater specificity on this issue, and today the Trump campaign provided that, releasing a very strong list of potential Supreme Court nominees — including Sen. Mike Lee, who would make an extraordinary justice — and making an explicit commitment to nominate only from that list. This commitment matters, and it provides a
serious reason for voters to choose to support Trump.
Second, Obamacare. The failed healthcare law is hurting millions of Americans. If Republicans hold Congress, leadership has committed to passing legislation repealing Obamacare. Clinton, we know beyond a shadow of doubt, would veto that legislation. Trump has said he would sign it.
Third, energy. Clinton would continue the Obama administration’s war on coal and relentless efforts to crush the oil and gas industry. Trump has said he will reduce regulations and allow the blossoming American energy renaissance to create millions of new high-paying jobs.
Fourth, immigration. Clinton would continue and even expand President Obama’s lawless executive amnesty. Trump has promised that he would revoke those illegal executive orders.
Fifth, national security. Clinton would continue the Obama administration’s willful blindness to radical Islamic terrorism. She would continue importing Middle Eastern refugees whom the FBI cannot vet to make sure they are not terrorists. Trump has promised to stop the deluge of unvetted refugees.
Sixth, Internet freedom. Clinton supports Obama’s plan to hand over control of the Internet to an international community of stakeholders, including Russia, China, and Iran. Just this week, Trump came out strongly against that plan, and in support of free speech online.
These are six vital issues where the candidates’ positions present a clear choice for the American people.
If Clinton wins, we know — with 100% certainty — that she would deliver on her left-wing promises, with devastating results for our country.
My conscience tells me I must do whatever I can to stop that.
We also have seen, over the past few weeks and months, a Trump campaign focusing more and more on freedom — including emphasizing school choice and the power of economic growth to lift African-Americans and Hispanics to prosperity.
Finally, after eight years of a lawless Obama administration, targeting and persecuting those disfavored by the administration, fidelity to the rule of law has never been more important.
The Supreme Court will be critical in preserving the rule of law. And, if the next administration fails to honor the Constitution and Bill of Rights, then I hope that Republicans and Democrats will stand united in protecting our fundamental liberties.
Our country is in crisis. Hillary Clinton is manifestly unfit to be president, and her policies would harm millions of Americans. And Donald Trump is the only thing standing in her way.
A year ago, I pledged to endorse the Republican nominee, and I am honoring that commitment. And if you don’t want to see a Hillary Clinton presidency, I encourage you to vote for him."
Oh?
So, when Cruz was useful to you in your drive to destroy Donald trump's candidacy you talked him up. Very politically expedient of you. Loyalty's not your strong suit is it?
But, it's good to see you're not bitter, though. I'm proud of you there.
Unlike other nevertrumpers who say they're not bitter but seem consumed by a gnawing hate eating away their gut until they can taste the bile in their mouth. But, at least they're not bitter.
