Donald Trump Called Debate Moderator Lester Holt a Democrat. He’s Actually a Republican.

Republican nominee Donald Trump called first presidential debate moderator, NBC News anchor Lester Holt, “a Democrat” Monday, despite public records that indicate otherwise.

New York State voter registration documents show that Holt has been a registered Republican in the state since 2003.

Trump’s comments to Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly, which were offered without any evidence to support the claim, are part of a time-honored tradition of alleging moderator bias and expectations-setting before a presidential debate.

“By the way, Lester is a Democrat. It’s a phony system. They are all Democrats. It’s a very unfair system,” Trump said of the debate moderators.

The NBC newsman, regarded by both parties as a straight shooter, is set to moderate the first debate on Sept. 26.

Trump has not been alone in criticizing the objectivity of debate moderators. Hillary Clinton’s campaign sent out a pair of fundraising appeals off NBC anchor Matt Lauer’s performance anchoring a back-to-back candidate town hall earlier this month.

Fox News anchor Chris Wallace, who is set to moderate the third debate, is a longtime registered Democrat, which he has explained as a matter of pragmatism as a resident of Democrat-dominated Washington, D.C. Public records searches for the remaining debate moderators returned no partisan affiliation.

Spokespeople for NBC did not respond to requests for comment on Trump’s attack or Holt’s voter registration.

If I was Holt, I would tell Trump "Hey, it takes one (Democrat) to know one, Donald."

Trump is just setting up his alibi beforehand...in case he loses big to Hillary, IMO.

Trump doesn't have real intelligence, he has cunning. To have real intelligence means you understand the consequences of your actions.  Trump doesn't have that.  He's just smart enough to know what he had to say to get the Pubbie nomination, but he'll be at the mercy of his "advisors" should he get elected.  He'll have to have enough intelligent people around him to tell him he won't be able to do many of the stupid things he's planning. Whether he'll listen or not is another matter. He's incredibly lucky he's got the Dem worst possible candidate ever to run against.

Aside from his reluctance to actually listen to any advisor that he hires, due to his colossal ego....there is a glaring and obvious problem with that.  A Catch-22, in fact.   It first requires possessing a modicum of intelligence in order to hire competent and intelligent staff and advisors.  Trump doesn't have it.

Regardless of what he says his personal beliefs are,Hold IS going to parrot whatever his bosses at NBC tell him to repeat,or he will lose his job.

BTW, Trump is also a Dim in Republican clothing. Probably more so than Holt.
