You appear to feel that's a good thing.  Why on earth would you feel that way?

RIV, like a lot of other foam mouthing Trumpets have a deep hatred of a true conservative like Cruz.

Not surprised.

His choice, not mine.  Grateful we still have individual choice.

@ConstitutionRose

Foolish #NeverTrumper! Don't you know that your individual choice is invalidated by the choices of others? Clearly, you must sell out your principles and be just like this guy or you will become a laughingstock!

Also, why haven't you gotten on the gay marriage train yet? Don't you know that the majority of people are OK with it? Why, even the next Reagan, the most conservative candidate to ever walk the face of the planet, El Trumpo is a-ok with gay marriage. Therefore, you must be too!

Staaa-a-aaay with the flo-o-ock...

How to lose credibility while posting:
1. Trump is never wrong.
2. Default to the most puerile emoticon you can find. This is especially useful when you can't win an argument on merits.
3. Be falsely ingratiating, completely but politely dismissive without talking to the points, and bring up Hillary whenever the conversation is really about conservatism.
4. When all else fails, remember rule #1 and #2. Emoticons are like the poor man's tweet!

Well at least we now understand how it is that an entire mob of people can be herded onto trains.

I don't care if Cruz himself endorses Trump and tells us to get on board his train.

Trump has done nothing to convince me to vote for him and his rabid death-threatening supporters have solidified my eternal hostility to them and their prince.
Fart for freedom, fart for liberty and fart proudly.  - Benjamin Franklin

...Obsta principiis—Nip the shoots of arbitrary power in the bud, is the only maxim which can ever preserve the liberties of any people. When the people give way, their deceivers, betrayers and destroyers press upon them so fast that there is no resisting afterwards. The nature of the encroachment upon [the] American constitution is such, as to grow every day more and more encroaching. Like a cancer, it eats faster and faster every hour." - John Adams, February 6, 1775

There was no problem of Cruz and Trump appearing together at that DC rally, was there?

There was no problem with the two being aligned during the campaign either until they turned against each other, was there?

But now, it's different.

I'll save posting more on that or the congenial photos of the two together or that Cruz's position on immigration moved towards Trump's position, Rubio did the same.

No more problem than the Donald inviting the Clintons to his third wedding, donating money to her and other demonrats, and telling us all not to long ago what a great person the Beast is and how she'd make a great President.  I guess times change and that was before he decided to run for President.

Patrick's been peddling this line for months. Nothing new under the sun, just old news wrapped in pretty paper, tied up with a bow and packaged as something new.

Actually, it is pretty big news.  This endorsement furthers and deepens Cruz's political isolation
It's also old news from months ago.

"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

I don't like Cruz, mainly for two reasons:

1. He comes across as a used-car salesman to me
2. His doomed shutdown bid

That said, he earned my respect for his actions this election cycle.  Depending on his behavior in the Senate over the next few years will let me know if he's gained some wisdom on how politics works.

(IE: You can't be a lone crusader, you need friends/allies.  It's a quid pro quo world, you can't get anything without offering something.  And that honey attracts flies better than vinegar.)

So I'm on the fence with him.

It's less about Cruz with them and more about his ideology. Constitutional, limited government, Conservatives are a threat to Trump's soft statism. Therefore, by extension, are a threat to them.

Exactly right.  It's Alinsky 101.....and their hatred of Cruz stems from fear of what he stands for....the exact opposite of what their agenda dictates.

Quote
RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)

I have to admit and confess.....my estimation of Cruz has gone up considerably since the convention.  He lives, rent free - luxury suite, in their heads.  I admire him for that.
No quarter given to the enemy within...ever.

What I see in Cruz is typical for the very brilliant.  They have to learn social skills and how to "work the knobs" so to speak.  That's are not things that come naturally for them and the development of these skills are often ignored when they are younger because they live such a rich life through their intellect.
