Police in New York are responding to an explosion in Manhattan.
Multiple injuries are reported.
According to the New York City Police Department, the incident happened on 23rd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues around 8:30 Saturday night.
Police have cordoned off a large area near the scene.
The NYPD's counterterrorism unit confirmed in a tweet that an explosion had occurred at in that area.
Several injured people have been taken to local hospitals.
ABC-7 New York reporter CeFaan Kim captured photos of two cars that appear to have been damaged.

He notes that a child in one of the vehicles was injured.
New York City District 3 councilman, Corey Johnson, noted that the FBI was on scene, along with a number of police cars, New York City Fire Department units, and ambulances.
At least three people were seen being taken away from the apparent scene of the blast in ambulances, Reuters reported. The severity of their injuries was not immediately clear.
