Bingo! If Clinton's the next President we will fight for our values, win some and lose some, and enjoy the sleep of the just. If we help to elect Trump we will have paid the price with our souls. Conservatism will be conflated with Trumpism, and the causes of limited government and individual liberty will be gone with the wind.
If Trump's elected, Trump automatically becomes titular head of the Republican Party and will get to dictate the agenda. Mitch McConnell will quickly fall in line and give Trump what he wants. Paul Ryan is pretty weak and will do whatever someone of higher status tells him. Even the "Freedom Caucus" in the House has shown willingness to cut deals instead of push the agenda. Without the Republican Party (and you can bet the Democrats aren't going to help us either), conservatism will have very little voice in Washington—only a few voices in the Senate like Lee, Cruz and occasionally Rand Paul—the types who are willing to challenge leadership.
That's part of the reason I'm more supportive of going third party this time around: if Option 3 gets elected, the party loyalty factor isn't there. Congress isn't going to go along with a President Gary Johnson's dumb ideas (for example) just because they're Republicans. They will if it's President Donald Trump.
