Chicago Receives $1M In Fed Taxpayer Funds to Create 'Urban Farming'

(CNSNews.com) - The city of Chicago will be hiring an agricultural coordinator using some of its taxpayer funding from a million dollar federal grant.

Chicago will receive the funds through the U.S. Agriculture Department’s (USDA) Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) program.

"The Conservation Innovation Grant program is a highly competitive conservation grant program that helps put the very best conservation tools to work on privately held farms and forests, for maximum environmental impact," said Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack in a press release [1].

I'm thinking the money might be better spent on buying land for cemeteries with all the murders they have.

Idiotic idea where ever its tried.

Illinois has plenty of actual farmland same as Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio.

Article says they will use privately held farms and forests.   If it's already a farm why do they need money?

The better question is which Democrat donor will be getting this money.

Is the money going to be included to add the Urban Sombrero to these Chicagoland gauchos?
