 Fifteen Years After 9/11, Blindness to the Islamist Threat Is Official Policy
Prohibiting mention of Islam in connection with jihadist violence won’t prevent future atrocities.

If there is a theme to this 15th annual observance — the word “anniversary” just seems so wrong — of the most lethal enemy attack ever carried out on American soil, it is erasure.

At least that’s what they’re being told in Owego, N.Y. There, a Muslim activist group is demanding that the town’s 9/11 memorial be erased. Not all of it; just the word “Islamic.”

Carved into the memorial — the point of which is to signify that which we must never forget — is the factual assertion that, on September 11, 2001, “nineteen Islamic terrorists” carried out coordinated suicide-hijacking attacks against the United States.

The Islamic Organization of the Southern Tier has decided that the monument is dangerous because it “could encourage hatred toward Muslims.” Fifteen years on, we are supposed to believe that the danger we face is not an enduring global threat fueled by an ideology drawn directly from Islamic scripture; the danger lies in speaking honestly about the threat.

It has taken less than two years to go from Je suis Charlie — the fleeting show of solidarity in support of Western free-speech principles after Islamic terrorists mass-murdered cartoonists at the satirical French magazine Charlie Hebdo — to Je suis Kerry. That’s a show of solidarity in support of our ineffable secretary of state who, when not steering aid, comfort, and goo-gobs of cash to the jihadist regime in Tehran, is telling the international media that maybe terrorism would go away if they’d just stop talking about it.

Stay Calm and Carry On. Help Is On the Way.

If you want a basket of deplorables, I give you a basket of deplorables: (posts a photo of a basketful of beets)

Representing both coasts and a wide swath of flyover America let me assure you that of the entire lot of MOTI gathered for the FFF - Bakken Wag, Boo, Creeper, Doug Ross, GW, Needlepointer, Noelle’s Bootcut Kittenpants, Robin and Mr. Robin, Upnorthlurkin and Mr. Lurkin – there is nary a smidgen of deplorable in the lot. In fact, nothing here butt fine specimens of American exceptionalism. So I guess we must be the other half of DJT’s supporters:(photo of basketful of puppies)  Although I suspect Hillary hates that half as well.

So as Raj and I are packing up this morning and heading back to our bunker I want to thank creeper for all the heavy lifting required to make this happen. I can’t tell you what an honor and pleasure it was to meet people we’ve “known” for years on the innertubes in the “real world.” Sort of like going from black and white to color.  Thanks again creep, for organizing this wonderful weekend with very special people who, whether they started out on the Trump Train or were Cruzin’ with someone else, just want to Make America Great Again for succeeding generations. I wish the entire MOTI family could have been here. You would have loved it.

And now, because it is 9/11, and because it has been 15 years since the day evil was visited on our country I am reposting my annual reminder. Because already there is an upcoming generation that has no concept of the pure evil manifested that day because their teachers are not allowed to name the evil. In fact the entire left half of the country subscribes to the “If you can’t say something nice about Islam, #JustShutUp” doctrine.

So let us pause to remember those who lost their lives in the Islamic terrorist attack on America and on American civilians September 11, 2001.

Celebrating today as a “Day of Service” or “Patriot Day” hides the face of an evil as vile as any that has ever existed on this planet.

These hateful ideologues didn’t just attack America on 9/11, they attacked the idea of America. They hate the very values that made America the great nation it is, the champion of freedom, independence and the light of liberty in a very dark world.

In my wildest imagination I never dreamed that we would voluntarily surrender any of those sacred freedoms and liberties. Nor would I have ever believed that 15 years hence we would stand poised as a nation to relinquish many more in the next election.

On this somber day of remembrance let us recall not just the victims but also why we fight: to preserve the essence of the Great American Idea;

    We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

And let us remember as well that the government derives it’s powers from the consent of the governed, not the other way around. So we will continue to fight the onslaught of tyrants and ideologues – both foreign and domestic - who seek to destroy that idea and with it the concept of American exceptionalism.

May God bless America, and preserve her freedom to seek that blessing.
