Donald Trump, promising in a speech in Philadelphia Wednesday to return prosperity and security to the U.S., also vowed to create "one American nation" that will be "under one God."

"We will be one people, under one God, saluting one American flag," Trump declared from a podium in front of a half dozen American flags.

"And, by the way, we love our flag," he added, drawing drew cheers and applause from the invitation-only audience gathered at the historic Union League to hear his plans for national security.

"To all of those who have served this nation, I say, so strongly,that I will never ever let you down," Trump said, in his calm, measured speech. "We will protect those that protect us. That is very simple. We will protect those who protect us. And we will follow their example of unity. We will work across all racial and income lines to create one American nation. Together we will have one great American future. Our potential is unlimited."

He also said that under his presidency, America will become a "prosperous, generous and inclusive society" that will "discard the failed policies and division of the past and embrace true American change to rebuild our economy, rebuild our inner cities...we will bring back our jobs, and we will not let our jobs go to other countries. We will make America strong again. We will make America safe again. And we will make America great again, greater than ever before."

I do know that.  But when Trump speaks like Hitler I can't ignore it.  Am I supposed to pretend it doesn't sound familiar?  I wish I could find the quote where Trump referenced the nationalist party.  Trump said it was going to be a nationalist party.  Anyone remember?  I remember because we had the conversation that there is already a Nationalist party.

Trump is trying to sell that America is a poor,  selfish, racist society.  Romney attempted this in 2012, when unemployment was higher and things weren't as good as they are now.  It didn't work.

Trump's plan for the military will drive up the deficit and debt and wreck one of the signature achievements of the Republican Congress over the last four years, the sequester.

Like the ethanol subsidy, Trump simply panders to what he thinks is a constituency that will vote for him.  They may, but those of us who want responsible government know that Trump loves to spend other peoples' money.
