The Reversion of the NeverTrumps Begins
By Thomas Lifson

The NeverTrump faction of the Republican Party and conservative movement is facing reality as the election nears. As Jared E. Peterson explained in detail yesterday, “The election of Hillary Clinton would mean final defeat for American conservativism -- for at least a generation and almost certainly for much longer than that.”

Compared to the personal benefit of maintaining theoretical moral superiority to the unwashed masses that chose Donald Trump ad the GOP nominee, the downside of a Supreme Court majority utterly compliant with the demands and whims of the left, is starting to change minds. As well, the degree of personal corruption of the Clintons is such that the specter of a presidency driven by the opportunities for various forms of bribery may be sickening some of those repelled by Trumpian rhetoric and style.

#NeverTrump means Never Trump.  Ever.

The squishes who cave in this "lesser of two evils" election are just as culpable for all the disasters Trump will visit on the country and its reputation as the Trumpkins.

I think Lifson is dreaming.  Trump has 60 days to embarrass himself and his supporters and to drive away the fence-sitters.

It starts tonight, with a subject Trump knows nothing about:  the military.

Trump is the nail in the coffin of the Conservative movement within the GOP.

It's why he was sent and why the Establishment Ruling Class reluctantly signed onto supporting the NY Liberal Democrat as their party's standard bearer.

They wanted to get rid of Conservative opposition to their Uniparty Oligarchy - and Hillary wanted all real opposition to her coronation removed.

Trump delivered.

Now they will redefine Conservatism to mean better-managed Socialism and more streamlined Central Statism.

NeverTrump is a myth. Some people won't vote for him ever, some won't vote for her ever. Some will vote for him, some will vote for her. Some won't vote.

The way it's always been.

NeverTrump is being set up as a scapegoat to be defined after the election at the GOPe's/MSM's/DNC's political convenience. Most likely constitutional conservatives will be the designated fall guys.

It was all by design.
