Trump to call for end of military sequestration

By Harper Neidig

Donald Trump will call for the end of sequestration for the military in a speech on Wednesday, according to a number of reporters briefed by his campaign.

The speech will take place at the Union League of Philadelphia, ahead of a candidate forum hosted by MSNBC where both Trump and Hillary Clinton are scheduled to appear.

Spend, spend, spend.   Neither Trump nor Hillary will provide any fiscal discipline.

And what will Trump do with this extra money?  Empower the military to conduct waterboarding or worse?  Kill the families of terrorists?

He has no idea what to do about ISIS except "bomb the sh*t out of them."

Trump is using military spending as a bribe for votes.

Nothing more.

And he would be forced by the Democrats to accept the end of sequestration for discretionary spending.  Or does he not realize this?

This is my biggest disappointment this election cycle
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

The military budget is bloated, with the wrong spending priorities. Our acquisition system is a joke, personifying Eisenhower's warnings about the military-industrial complex.

$500 billion a year, and 75%+ of our Army brigades are "non-operational"?

When I was a Systems Maintenance Officer at my unit in Germany, no one ever cut me any slack. I even invented an acronym to describe deficiencies for a given vehicle/weapons system that had more than three deficiencies: MFB (M----- F----- Broke).

Battalion HQ didn't think very highly of that acronym.   :silly:

One of the worst jobs I ever had, next to my current one. I'd nearly kill to be back at the FDIC.
You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality.

Trump is the ultimate authority on fighting ISIS.

He did say, "I know more about ISIS than the generals do."

Don't forget the "Believe Me"
AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

Calling for this now, so late in the election cycle, tells me that this is not a serious pledge.

Furthermore, his constant (multiple times per day at some points) flip-flops have stripped any bit of trust I had that this guy stands for anything other than himself.

IE: This looks like pandering and he has no credibility on anything.
