Pastor presents Trump with prayer shawl during church visit

By Nikita Vladimirov

Donald Trump was given a prayer shawl and a Bible by a pastor after speaking to a predominantly black church in Detroit on Saturday.

"There are going to be some times in your life that you are going to feel forsaken, you are going to feel down, but the anointing is going to lift you up," Bishop Wayne T. Jackson said to Trump.

He then proceeded to cloak Trump in the shawl and present him with a Bible.

"We have it especially for you, and we have one for your wife. Because when things go down, you can study the word of God,” Jackson said, handing the items to the GOP presidential nominee.

"When things seem like they are almost impossible, you will read Mark 9:23 — ‘If thou canst believe, all things are possible.’ ”

Trump's visit to Great Faith Ministries comes as his campaign is seeking to improve his support among minorities.

Trump spoke of carrying on Abraham Lincoln’s legacy in his speech to churchgoers Saturday, delivering a message of unity and promising to focus on bringing jobs back into Detroit.
