Hillary Clinton’s Missed Opportunity: Why She Should Have Held a News Conference Today

There is no ideal day for Hillary Clinton to face the media.
Except today.
For nearly a year–270 days, to be exact–there has been a constant refrain from reporters covering the 2016 presidential campaign: another day without a Hillary Clinton news conference.
To most voters, the form of reporters’ access is a non-issue. They care much more about creating jobs, economic growth, defeating ISIS, troubled schools, and myriad other issues our next president will face.
Still, Mrs. Clinton’s refusal to hold a press conference remains a daily distraction for the Clinton campaign, one that directly speaks to voters’ concerns about Mrs. Clinton’s openness and transparency and their overwhelming lack of trust in her.
