Claiming a cause “bigger than football,” San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick refused to stand for “The Star-Spangled Banner” Friday night at the opening of a preseason game with the Green Bay Packers.
But he was quickly put in his place by the image of a wounded warrior.
The $126 million player claimed that the flag represents “a country that oppresses black people and people of color.”
