After 50 years of Democrat race baiting is GOP finally wising up?
'If they stay on defense they're going to have their heads handed to them'

Maine Gov. Paul LePage went ballistic Thursday after several Democratic politicians labeled him a “racist” over comments he made about the demographic makeup of drug trafficking suspects in his state.

LePage went on a profanity-laced tirade in a voicemail message in which he challenged Democrat state legislator Drew Gattine to prove he was a racist, the Portland Press Herald reported.

“Mr. Gattine, this is Gov. Paul Richard LePage,” a recording of the governor’s phone message says. “I would like to talk to you about your comments about my being a racist, you (expletive). I want to talk to you. I want you to prove that I’m a racist. I’ve spent my life helping black people and you little son-of-a-bitch, socialist (expletive). You … I need you to, just friggin. I want you to record this and make it public because I am after you. Thank you.”

Practically the worst thing that any politician can be accused of today is being a racist. That is being a white racist. No other group of people can be racists according to liberals who set the rules. Why can't other people (blacks, Hispanics, Asians) be racists? Because, according to libs,  those people don't have any power? Which you know, if you're old enough, is a load of bull. The mere fact that people's lives can be destroyed by being called a racist proves that blacks have a lot of power.
So many Pubbie pols desperately try to prove they're not racists. Naturally, they'll never be able to prove (at least in liberals estimations) that they're not racists.
And as a matter of fact there are racists who attach themselves to certain pols campaigns. Trump has a certain pct. of racists who support him.
But so what? What what are racists? Racists are haters, right? They're people who hate other people who differ from them in looks or other matters.
So by that definition since many libs are haters of all things and people conservative, libs are just as guilty as conservatives of having a certain pct. of haters/racists amongst them.
So the strategy for Pubbie candidates is to not try and disprove that they have racist backers. What they should be doing is pointing out all the haters in the Dem Party. In short, attack the Dems. Being on the defense gains them nothing.

Good on Paul LePage.

Plain speaking in the tradition of Harry Truman, even if the language gets a little salty (but didn't Truman's, as well?).

I hope he doesn't back down on this.
