10 shot in Thursday attacks across Chicago

At least 10 people were shot in Chicago violence on Thursday.
About 9:15 a.m., two elderly people were involved in an apparent attempted murder-suicide in Lake View.
Yuriy M. Naroditskiy, an 84-year-old man, was pronounced dead at 9:20 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the head inside his home in the 600 block of West Diversey, according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
A woman, also shot in the head, was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition. Police said the incident was being investigated as an attempted murder-suicide. An autopsy was scheduled for Friday.
The latest nonfatal shooting happened about 9:30 p.m. in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side, where a 35-year-old man was shot twice in the abdomen in the 2900 block of West Walton, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.
