"Striking gold" is mainly a term to express when someone gets really lucky nowadays, but by golly, someone has actually done it.A 145-ounce gold nugget has been reportedly found in Victoria, Australia by a real life prospector and could be worth more than A$250,000 ($190,710) when it goes to auction. The big 'ol nugget has been named "Friday's Joy" on account of the day it was found.
That never happens to me. Maybe one day, while walking to the Sac N Pac, I'll trip over a huge nugget.
@SunkenCiv
War, what is it he good for? Absolutely nothing. Say it again...
Bizarre. I've followed SunkenCiv for years and have no idea what War is talking about.
I don't get that either. Long dead civilizations are where you find them. Considering what has been found, I always thought SunkenCiv did a great job of covering all bases.
I think if they read down the list of zotted and 'fugitive' freepers who have emigrated to this site, (and are enjoying it) they'd be shocked. In the meantime, they have been focused on 'hate week', the echo chamber, orange glorious, and the feeding frenzy without paying attention to what they have done.So be it. They can own it.
If you look at War's history, he doesn't like anything that shows any culture in the past was advanced unless it was his own Northern European culture. He actually wrote in one post along the lines that he thinks anthropology is a conspiracy to promote lesser cultures. (as he puts it) ...and don't even get me started about what he thinks about Jews. Oy Vey.
