In an interview with New York Times investigative reporter Jo Becker on Wednesday, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange accused the press of supporting Hillary Clinton, whom he likened to a “demon.”

“The American liberal press, in falling over themselves to defend Hillary Clinton, are erecting a demon that is going to put nooses around everyone’s necks as soon as she wins the election, which is almost certainly what she’s going to do,” Assange said in the interview, which was broadcast live Wednesday on Facebook.

The Wikileaks thing is one of a number of fascinating angles to this election.  Assange is brutally laying bare the media bias in ways that aren't easily excused; and he's reminding us what the old adversarial media (they hated everybody) used to look like.

And the thing is: there's a serious market for that kind of journalism.

So far it's just been about Hillary...God knows there is plenty of stuff out there already on Trump.

True, but I think the level of "October surprise" he will be dealing with will be unprecedented.  From multiple fronts.

So, to expand on this ... it's possible that Assange may want to totally disrupt both candidates and throw the election into chaos.   It's his style.

It's quite possible that he could succeed.  There are several polls out now, showing sky-high negatives for both Trump and Clinton -- the Monmouth poll suggests that "Neither" would win if the election were held today.

Interesting times.

It's good that this comes from Assange as he can't be called a 'right-winger' or anything dismissive.
