Now if Trump can just stop himself from saying something idiotic, it'll be a good day.

If all I want is a warm feeling, I should just wet my pants.

Hillary's week has been as bad as last week was to Trump.

I've been among the most vociferous of Trump critics here... but I give kudos on this one.  Obama, the apparent "president," despite calls to go to LA, can't be bothered to shake loose from his vacation time; meanwhile, Hillary needs her weekend rest and the trip is too much for her.  The only ones left able and willing to view the damage first-hand and interact with the locals are Trump and Pence.

So... I laud Trump and Pence for going to Louisiana.

Agree with what you've said. It's a good thing for them to go there. Boosts morale, if only for a short time.

I find it very odd that nothing has been reported that Hussein is doing anything.  I think Trump's visit will make a huge impact on his presidential campaign to visit Louisiana; especially if he can get TV coverage.  Secondly ... if he himself donates $$ or starts a more expedient and effective relief effort -- he brags about his money -- he needs to put it to good use.
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

No doubt there.  Silence is golden; duct tape is silver.  Trump can indeed make it a good day by not going off-message.

I see where Louisana's "simple-jack" guv warns Trump not to make the flood visit a photo-op.  Wonder if he would have made the same comment if Hitlerly was visiting. :thud:
I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

He'd have given her free reign for any photo op - fake or real - that she could gin up.  Party first, and all...

Hopefully by Trump visiting it will also bring more TV coverage to the disaster, which has been poorly covered to date. The NYT even apologized for its dereliction of duty to the public.

Hillary has to have her rest for Monday.....

But that is also why character counts.
That doesn't help with this election.  Not with these candidates.
