Funny how the fake words Trump is speaking now - they were written for him by someone else, and probably tested in a focus group - are suddenly making up for the true words Trump spoke every time he put his big fat foot in his even bigger fat mouth.

Trump simply cannot be trusted.  He is a liar and an idiot.  And that will never change.
@Oceander

YES.  He was reading word for word what they wrote for him to say.  He means none of it.

You don't have to vote for Trump, but you damned well better plan on voting against her!!

Yup...I intend to...  ...and against Trump, too!

Fat chance of that happening. #NeverTrump is a permanent fixture around here. They're sorta like toe fungus -- they #nevergoaway.

Their every post is a new low in political discourse.

Well, it was a nice speech.

Can he keep this up?  This was a scripted speech, so one has no idea if he believes any of this.  He's going to Louisiana, which is purely political, but it's more than Obama has done.

The bar is so low for Trump that he gives an unspecified apology for unspecified actions to unspecified people and the press goes ga ga.  He's trying to pivot, to be somebody he's not. We know who the real Trump is.  We've seen him for over 400 days.

Jury's out.

Jury is out but if he can keep on going like this it will be easier to hold my nose and vote against Hilary
God is still in control

Either Clinton or Trump is going to win.  He is so dangerous, I'm voting for Clinton.

I'll only vote for Clinton if I think its time to drive a stake through the heart of the nation and start the civil war.
I'll only vote for Trump if I genuinely believe he'll get impeached almost immediately.

I can respect that choice.  He is definitely dangerous, and I agree that he's more dangerous than she is.

Ah, another asinine comment from an asinine #NeverTrumper.   Why would I "hit the sauce" when my candidate is winning?

One scripted speech and a new dawn is upon us?  Good Grief.  I need 72 hours without Trump exposing his genitals before I consider this a turning point.

After the buzz of "best speech ever", I had to take a look.  Couldn't get through it, but did skip through to see if he seemed at all sincere.  He didn't.  Saw one part where he said, "... Pray for Louisiana..."  The crowd cheered, and Trump said, "Thank you."   I would hope they were cheering for Louisiana, not Trump, but he took it to be about him.

Yep!

I just finished watching the speech and, as others have already said, it was just him reading the teleprompter poorly, again.  The speech was more or less a litany of panders to different groups. Typical political screed making ridiculous promises the president has little to no power to enact sprinkled with some half-assed mea culpas.  The audience sure ate it up.

Loved that guy in the audience waving the rainbow flag, though.  How trendy!

“I’ve never wanted to learn the language of the insiders, and I’ve never been politically correct – it takes far too much time, and can often make it more difficult to achieve total victory,” Trump added.

Saying that a judge cannot be impartial in a case where Trump is a defendant solely because he is of Mexican heritage is not being politically incorrect.  It's being a bigoted jackass.

Regrets don't equal an apology. Apologies are about empathy, admission, remorse, explanation, and making amends.

Is Trump sincere?   I say it doesn't matter because there are better choices out there than Trump or Clinton.

Evan McMullin.

Gary Johnson.

Daryl Castle.

No one needs to vote for the lesser of two evils.

I  can't vote for either one, so regardless of who wins I can't be blamed for the disasters that happen.

Trump says, "The sun is shining." The left-wing media, sinky and ocean pile on, "See! Trump's a racist!" Admit it. You know you guys do that.

But for some if us it's fun watching the dissonance, because we all know it. The sun is actually and truly shining.

And Trump claims sole credit for it.  But if it starts raining then it's someone else's fault.

Whipping the media is a standard Republican tactic.  Conway knows this won't hurt him so she'll let him have his fun with the media.

How is this any different from Manafort?  Conway just has him on a different leash.

Asked why he is flying to Baton Rouge when he didn't go to New Orleans, Trump replied "I had nothing to gain before".
