Modern technology has made the U.S. Marine Corps complacent, according to the branch commandant Gen. Robert B. Neller.

During a conference on the future of expeditionary warfare, Neller said Marines have grown too comfortable using modern devices in every situation, regardless of the tactical disadvantage.

“What do you think the largest electromagnetic signature in the entire MEF headquarters emanated from? The billeting area. Why? Because everybody had their phone on. So we’re going to take everybody’s phone away from them?” Neller asked at the conference, according to an article on CNN.
