An NFL spokesperson Saturday denied that the league had contacted Donald Trump to complain about the schedule for the upcoming presidential-election debates between Trump and Hillary Clinton. The statement contradicted Trump’s assertion that he had received a letter from the NFL bemoaning the fact that the debate dates overlap with scheduled games....

Once again the congenital liar backed off another lie.

Trump retreats from claim that NFL sent letter regarding debates.

Presidential candidate Donald Trump doesn’t like the fact that two of the three scheduled debates conflict with NFL prime-time games. He claimed in an interview with ABC’s This Week that the NFL sent him a letter calling the move “ridiculous.”

The league called him on it, saying no letter was sent. Apparently learning a lesson from the last time he took on the NFL (as owner of the USFL’s New Jersey Generals), Trump has backed down.

In any event, the dispute would be with the debate commission, not Trump. The NFL has had games every Monday and Thursday for years now. They've moved games in the past to accommodate the late conventions (which wasn't necessary this year as they moved them to July) and it's hurt them in the ratings.

He just lies for no good reason

People who've worked with Trump know he's a liar, but he's also a thug bully, so he's not used to getting called out on it.  It's great to see him getting held accountable!
