ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) – Police in  Asheville, North Carolina are delivering citations to activists who protested the fatal shooting of an African American man by an Asheville officer.

The Asheville Citizen-Times reports more than 20 people have been cited for a July 21st march and sit-in at the police department about the shooting death of 35-year-old Jai Williams, who died July 2.

A department spokeswoman says the most common charge is impeding the flow of traffic. Police are using social media to identify some of the protesters.
