Donald Trump takes stage at VFW convention in Charlotte

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump took the stage Tuesday morning shortly before 9:40 to address the Veterans of Foreign Wars Convention in Charlotte, one day after Democrat Hillary Clinton faced the same group.

Trump entered the Convention Center hall to applause.

Trump’s visit to Charlotte follows his Monday evening campaign rally in Winston-Salem – and a July 5 event in Raleigh. Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee, visited Charlotte July 5 for a rally with President Barack Obama.

Their repeated visits to North Carolina highlight the state’s growing importance as one of the few battlegrounds that could go blue or red in November. Polls show the candidates are virtually tied in North Carolina.

I am amazed at his worshipers ability to explain away that episode claiming Trump didn't know the man when there is much evidence to the contrary.

I listened to the speech and I gotta tell ya....

I have as hard a time listening to that man as I have listening to 0bama.  Not for the same reasons.

I've never enjoyed the company of sleazy salesmen and that's how Trump comes off to me.  I keep waiting to find out what's really behind all of the smoke & mirrors.  The sycophantic responses of the audience make it especially unbearable.  It's like Herb Tarlek up in front of a crowd that actually loves him.... cringe!



On the other hand, I listened to about 5 minutes of Hillary's speech yesterday and I just had to turn it off.  I think listening to her is actually worse than listening to 0bama....  and I didn't think that could be possible.

That clip plays a central part in Hillary's new 30 second ad.  Very effective.
