Good interview with Mike Lee on Glenn Beck this morning.

Says the RNC was stupid for silencing the grassroots yesterday.  They could have united the party, but further divided it.  He didn't blame Trump, but rather the RNC leadership.

I blame Trump delegates along with the RNC. They're so terrified that someone will vote against Trump that they were willing to allow the RNC to usurp their own authority.

Yup. And now the RNC is free to make new rules and change rules at any time they wish between now and the next GOP convention. The fact that they rejected the Mike Lee proposal to support closed primaries is pretty telling as well.

I have been contacted by some mods. I found their responses heartening. At TOS, they would circle the wagons and immediately ban or suspend me for daring to point out the impropriety. I'm sensing a bit of empathy on TBR instead.

As far as the other thread - I've forgotten about it. It's a TCG thread.

What is sad is that Trump is causing even this small forum to become completely balkanized. What does that mean for the party in general?

I agree, XenaLee.  This place is 100's times better than TOS, and the convention shenanigans is the issue, not some other thread out of the thousands here.

I think Lee was trying to be gracious, and I think you're right.  It's a Trump/GOPe united front, trying to shut down any minority opinion.  The comparison was made to when the Dems voted on getting God out of their platform in 2012.  It was clear the voice vote was a Nay, but they ruled that the Ayes had it.

It's all about power, and the RNC has sold whatever soul it had (OK... not much)......to gain the power they imagine they will get with Trump.

Last night when I checked, there were four or five times the number of posters on this thread as the other.

It's good that we forget it.  They're a small, angry minority here, and they will remain that.

The government guarantees your free speech. However, as a private entity TBR has no such constitutional requirement.

I think management made a determination that you have plenty of space on this forum to spew Trump hatred over 99% of the other threads.

I think they were probably just trying to clear the isles for some undisrupted discussion of the convention, rather than catering to your neverTrump obsessive need to emote about losing the 2016 republican presidential primary to Donald Trump. Try getting over it. You'll feel better.

Obviously not all Trump supporters were on board with this behavior from the RNC. The Trump campaign finance chair quit over it
