A responsible campaign would not roll out its VP pick like this, exposing the choice to an effective attack like this. 

Trump tweets out the choice (he had no choice as Pence had to pull his filing papers for reelection in two hours) and Pence gets defined by Hillary's opposition research team.

Manafort (whom we always knew would rather attack Republicans than Hillary) is inept.

I thought Pence was the safe pick? That's what a lot of supporters are complaining about, calling him milktoast and not a fighter.

How to lose credibility while posting:
1. Trump is never wrong.
2. Default to the most puerile emoticon you can find. This is especially useful when you can't win an argument on merits.
3. Be falsely ingratiating, completely but politely dismissive without talking to the points, and bring up Hillary whenever the conversation is really about conservatism.
4. When all else fails, remember rule #1 and #2. Emoticons are like the poor man's tweet!

To be clear, the video is a Clinton campaign hit piece, directed toward their most ardent constituencies (gays and pro-aborts).  They undoubtedly had similar videos cued up for other potential VP picks, including Newt Gingrich.

They're marvelously effective at this sort of character assassination, and they have plenty of friends in the media who will be happy to take up the cry.

And Trump?  Not so much.

Pence was the original Touchback Amnesty guy.

Trump, has at least during the early part of his campaign, talked of expediting the good illegals back.

So that's my angst over Pence (and Trump).

And the title is off. It should be, Trump Doubles Down on Touchback Amnesty.

Yep.

Liberals will hate Pence because he had the audacity to sign RFRA, completely ignoring the fact that he withered in the face of their attacks.

Conservatives will hate Pence precisely because he withered and stripped RFRA of any actual protection.

Trump supporters—well, he makes Trump look strong and decisive in comparison, so it's all "the art of the deal" to them.

This is the video from which most voters are going to get their first impression of Pence, while Trump and team are once again caught on the pot with their pants around their ankles.

I thought you had me on ignore.

I'm not criticizing Pence.  Just showing how incompetent the Trump team is, stumbling and fumbling and leaking Pence's name so that the Hillary oppo team could have this ready to roll 15 minutes after the announcement.

Not taking any side. I'm opposed to both Trump and Hillary.  But, this is another illustration of the Trump incompetence.

By joining up with Trump, Mike Pence has a great future behind him.

Many #nevertrumps said they wanted a conservative VP nominee. They got one.
