Gingrich calls for deportation tests of everyone with a 'Muslim background'

Newt Gingrich, one of the final candidates vying to become Donald Trump's running mate, called for testing of "every person who is of a Muslim background" to determine whether they "believe in sharia" in response to Thursday's attack in Nice, France.

Hours after Donald Trump declared that the attack in Nice constituted "war" against France and the United States, the former House speaker cast the struggle more broadly, saying: "Western civilization is in a war."

Gingrich then suggested that those who failed a test and were found to be adherents of "sharia law" should be deported from the country. The highly charged proposal echoes Trump's controversial idea to institute a religious test for immigrants entering the country "until we figure out what is going on."

Constitution?  We don't need no stinkin' Constitution.

Seriously,  before we go violating the rights of innocents,  let's back up our rhetoric regarding ISIS with action.   It's time to send in the allied armies of Europe and the U.S. to Syria to crush these evildoers once and for all.

It certainly seems a blatant attempt by Newt to get Trump to put him on the ticket.  Lets put 2 loose cannons on the ticket who's mouth runs before the brain.  We may as well go for a historic loss to Hilary, not just a loss. Why lose the white house when you can lose the house and senate as well.

Screen and deport people for terrorist ties - absolutely.  Screen and deport people for religious views - not so much. Change the statement to "screen and deport all those who believe in Christ" and see how that plays.  Of course the left would love it.

Gingrich's fat face saying this nonsense will be played back over and over in September along with Trump advocating the Muslim ban.

And the announcer ends "You want religious freedom?  Vote for Hillary."

Newt and Trump would have to deport them all.  A Muslim friend (devout follower of Islam) told me the two cannot be separated. ie "Sharia Law is Islam.  You cannot be a follower of Islam without Sharia Law."
