Unbinding Delegate Amendment Killed Without Debate

Reading tweets from the rules committee, the unbinding delegate amendment was quickly killed. It was proposed when the room was only half full and immediately a Trump delegate raised motion to end debate and vote. Chair said 'any objections, so ordered' before anyone could even hiccup, then asked for voice vote and called it quickly.

I am only reading this in tweets, I am not watching to confirm what happened but twitter is exploding about how this was done. They spent more time this morning on one amendment changing a comma to a semicolon in rule 10.1.

Yep, the big blow up is the chairwoman refused to allow any debate and ended the voice vote in a second, called it for Nay even though it sounded very close. Refused standing or roll call. Gaveled ending it to a lot of people saying objections. Completely broke Robert's Rules.

A lot of anger in that room right now. Rules members are pissed. Not just #NeverTrump delegates.  A lot of people don't like how that went down. A couple stood up asking for reconsideration, shot down by chairwoman.

The room is actually full, but not all rules members are seated, there are a lot of guests causing confusion when voice votes taken.

This may officially mark the beginning of the end of the Republican Party. It will be interesting to see how angry the delegates and other members there are at the high-handedness of the Trump supporters, and what they do about it (if anything).  :pondering:
